IMHO, part of the press shills for the GOP because they are neocon ideologues or corrupt or both, but another part is too cowardly to "go against the mood" (media-speak for presenting issues with little variation from their peers, in other words, conformity). :boring:
This is bad enough, but what is worse is that the some Democratic members of congress do the same thing. They are too cowardly to stand up and speak out against obvious wrongs. To eager to compromise and "play ball" with their right-wing peers. Too afraid to "rock-the-boat" by speaking out to the press about the issues. Too interested in covering their backside and keeping their jobs and the status quo.
Why aren't they screaming for impeachment of Bush over lying about evidence of WMD in Iraq? How about the Plame case? Why do they always roll over and not throw a fit about these outrages? :nuke:
There are wonderful exceptions to the above, and I applaud them. I just wish they were more the rule than exceptions.
