If Bush Were to get re-elected, God Forbid
Should we be concerned that one day during the ensuing 4 years we would be subject to the question:
"ARE YOU OR HAVE YOU EVER BEEN A MEMBER OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY?"
Saturday morning paranoia combined with a dose of sarcasm. ;-)

1. If Bush is elected, you mean, remember
he was selected before.

However, I'm so paranoid I don't think you're paranoid at all.

If BushCo retains the WH, we better hope the world survives the next 4 years!

12. You're welcome, but
I just like reminding everyone in the immmediate world that the Bush Administration is a fully Selected Corporation brought to us by Halliburton etc. (as often as I can...so I should really thank you)

6. I have family members who hate this administration but will not sign
their names to petitions, join an organization, etc. because they fear the possibility of retribution. They fear ASSKKKroft. Me, I sign everything...If that day ever comes, I will be one of the first to "go".

So it's not just you.

9. I understand your family member's thought processes
But figured that was part of the Bush strategy. Keep them down, keep them scared, keep them under control. (Them = the American Citizens) Say something critical of administration policy, you are not a Patriot. If your not a Patriot maybe you are a traitor. If you are a traitor perhaps you are the enemy. If you are the enemy perhaps you are subject to the Patriot Act.

13. Are some of your family members
of the age to have lived through the McCarthy era?

Mine are and some (gasp!) were communists in the 1930's. I understand their fear - they lived it - it's not just an abstract to them - I have one relative who was subpoened to testify before HUAC, for heaven's sake.

:scared:

15. One scary step further...
after eight years of smirk, then eight years of his brother. Thats why this election is so important ! Its the stop it B/4 it gets more out of control type of thing. Believe me if it looks like bush is going to lose in 04 ,Iam sure they will try everything they can to insure a win ,even a second stolen election ! Its very important that we pick someone that will win ,in my opinion that is Westley Clark . They cant throw the liberal word at him as they will with Dean or Kerry , they cant say he has a losey record etc. I think once the voters get more knowledge of Clark, the better he will look to repugs that are not very happy with bush and there are alot more of them then are admitting to it. Those voters will not vote for a Kerry or a Dean ,however they will vote for the General. I will support whom ever gets the Dem nomination, I will be much more excited by a Clark nomination then any other, and will feel more confident of a win. Even independants will find Clark attractive because he is not a life long politician ! I hope us Dems dont shoot ourselves on the foot by chosing a losing nominee. CLARK can get the job done and reclaim the White House for us !

16. That's no joke
A few years ago I would have just laughed at your post, but these days, with the 24/7 Fox News and talk radio and Freerepublic.com machine churning out anti-liberal, anti-Democratic propaganda, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a return to the Joe McCarthy days. I read an article yesterday about how in some parts of the south the word "Democrat" is like treated like the word "Communist" and those who are Democrats keep a low profile; those Democrats who do speak out are Zell Miller clones.
