No coverage of major security breach at Super bowl
CNN is all over the Janet Jackson titillating exposed breast thing, but there hasn't been a word (that I have heard) about the apparent streaker that got onto the field at the start of the second half.

TV threw up a graphic and starting talking football stats when this happened, but you could see all kinds of security running onto the field, and there was a brief shot of what looked to be a ref's uniform left on the field, which apparently was the streaker's. The commentators made some comment about nudity once security got things under control, but there was no explanation of what happened.

It's amazing to me that someone could get access to the field like this on the biggest TV event of the year, and even more amazing how the media has handled it. Some 80,000 people saw it live, but there has been no explanation or coverage, and the media is acting like the event never happened.

What an ideal opportunity for a terrorists to get into the heads of 100 million people! Suppose the guy was Al Queda, and got close to Tom Brady and blew himself up. What an incredible way to have flipped the Bush administration the bird and make a huge statement about who was winning the "war" on terrorism.

Fortunately, the guy was just looking for his 15 minutes of fame. But the security failure is startling. Looks like all the money the administration is spending on homeland security is such another corporate ripoff.

1. hence, the security paradox
The more paranoid you become, the greater the chance that a 'security breach' will occur.

Or, in the words of Princess Leia:
"The more you tighten your grasp, the more star systems will slip through your fingers."

I've always felt that to be one of the truest movie lines ever spoken. :-)

3. CNN.
I am glad to say I never watch it. I never pay for the bad news there.

Call me crazy but it feels better.

4. its policy
they didnt cover the streaker because they dont want to encourage it. From what I saw it was a guy doing a Irish jig or river dance(whatever they call it). The Janet exposure was planned, who wears pasties under their clothes.

5. That's standard policy - not covering a streaker
The media has been ignoring streakers since shortly after it became a fad. So as not to encourage them. Makes sense to me. I don't agree it's a "security failure". The clown jumped over a railing and ran on the field.

9. Why is it the Patriot linebacker's job to "level" this man ?
I presume there were security personnel who could handle the situation ?
Are we all now deputized to use force as we see fit ?
