Rummy admits error under Ted Kennedy questioning, life is good...
I just saw a clip on today's Lou Dobbs show in which Ted Kennedy confronts Mr. Donald "There Was Nothing Wrong With The Iraq Intelligence" Rumsfeld with his assertion, made 10 days into the Iraq war, regarding WMDs: "We know where they are."

What Rummy MEANT to say, we now know, is "we know where the suspected sites are"...and the American people breathe a collective sigh of relief, knowing that their president and staff protected them from a suspected threat and it only cost us 500 or so lives and billions and billions of dollars. Lucy...you got some "splainin to do....waaaaah!

Rumsfeld caved in to Kennedy's direct and unwavering questioning, admitting that "we know where they are" was indeed wrong because...er..ahem...if you take the actual words "we KNOW where they are," they didn't actually KNOW where they were, they knew where the SUSPECTED sites were, and, er...

...anybody who missed it, catch the CNN replay tonight, as well as the Dobbs transcripts on the web as I am paraphrasing here and not quoting...you will be glad you did.

Ted ROCKS.

3. He was testifying...
...but I missed the context because I had ten things going on around me and stopped when I saw that it was Ted Kennedy asking the questions. I mean, he didn't pull him over on a street corner...this was a formal, sit-down testimony.

5. Yeah, I thought of that when I posted...
...but didn't wanna come right out and say it. I'm thrilled that you read between the lines. A flagon of mead for you, and fresh horses for the men.

:toast:

I'm telling you., watch the replay. I can't promise how many more opportunities you're gonna have to hear Rummy...no matter how he tried to duck it and spin it...admit that he was wrong.
