Certifies to Congress That Iraq Is a Continuing Threat

President Bush has formally renewed the U.S. sanctions against Iraq, citing continued instability in the country, as well as the need to "ensure the establishment of a process leading to representative Iraqi self-rule."

To extend the sanctions, the president certified to Congress that Iraq continues to pose a threat to the United States. Former President George Bush first imposed sanctions on Iraq on August 2, 1990.

I was just about to go to bed when I decided just to take one more troll around and see what President Numbskull had done today and I found this. What is the deal? This guy is just plain nuts. Iraq is a danger to the United States? I rather think it's the other way around.

Not true, but funny, nonetheless.

Yes, yes, they are U.S. sanctions, however, I'm going to disagree with Bush, and perhaps yourself, on this statement:
"Iraq continues to pose a threat to the United States"

I mean, C'mon. Just what is Iraq going to do to the United States, right now (other than snipe off and set traps for  our sitting duck troops who have occupied Iraq)?

The Republican Party, like bullies, are really scared of their own shadows.

6. tin foil hat time....maybe to prevent others from doing business with
Iraq on a independent basis. Everything has to flow through the reconstruction "grab bag".
