Republican Leadership Briefing (CSPAN 10:30 AM ET) LIVE NOW
Republican Leadership Briefing

Senate Maj. Leader Bill Frist (R-TN) & the other Senate GOP leadership review the status of legislation as they leave for their annual summer recess.

Frist has already said at least 22238 hypocritical statements and 3028 outright lies. A new record!

1. Ah, now the Democrat slams start
After crowing about passing the energy bill last night, Frist has passed the stage to McConnell who is now starting to see how many times he can use the word "obstruction" in his speech. :puke:

"to suggest as virtually every Democrat has suggested, that someone like Pryor can't hold deeply held beliefs.... (parphrased but close)

"Do we want people with shallow beliefs?"

"an abomination"

"not tolerant, using their word"

Orrin Hatch was the one to bring up religion in the hearing! He's the one that interjected the word Catholic in the discussion. Now they try to blame it on the Dems.

George P Bush just spoke at one of their get togethers.
He's a symbol of diversity deployed, "en espanol," to court young and Latino voters for the Bush campaign.
And, let's face it, he's a major hottie: a cross between Ricky Martin and John Kennedy Jr. in the looks department
"He just popped out of nowhere, and now it's like, Ooh,la-la!" said Angelo Figueroa, managing edtior of People en Espanol, the popular magazine's Spanish-language offshoot. "He's hunky. There's definitely a buzz."

16. tell it!
Read this if you guys haven't this article proves the pukes are playing politics with this anti catholic crap Sanatorum is a big FAT LIAR everyone of the pukes that yaps this is doing nothing more than doing what the committee for justice planned on doing. Note the date June 27

http://www.committeeforjustice.org/contents/news/news070703_rollcall.shtml

<snip>The group, founded by allies of Bush, is better financed and organized and is more connected to other conservative groups because of the groundwork it laid in anticipation of a court vacancy, said Sean Rushton, the committee's executive director. "We have more money and more channels to people with money," Rushton said.

The committee's Supreme Court campaign was set to formally kick off June 27, the day after the high court's last opinion was released and retirements were expected to be announced. Bush's nephew, George P. Bush, was the headline speaker at an event that was part fundraiser and part rally, held in the offices of the American Council of Life Insurers at 101 Constitution Ave. NW with a glamorous view overlooking the West Lawn of the Capitol. <snip>

<snip>One plan calls for the committee to sponsor ads attacking Democrats for an anti-Catholic bias in their opposition to Pryor and Kuhl, both of whom are Catholic. "Catholics need not apply," Rushton suggested the ads would read. </snip>

18. George P Bush, First Man-Made Latino...

Hi Tech Hispanic Hunk a Hit
http://www.pocho.com/news/2000/gpbushexperiment/gpbushX080100.html

East Los Angeles (pocho.com) The Bush campaign denied today that 24 year old Bush nephew, and former little brown one, George Prescott Bush is actually a secret biological weapon designed by the GOP to turn the brains of Latino voters into gooey nacho cheese sauce. The alarming accusations come from the National Pochismo Institute, a prestigious East L.A. thinktank. Head researcher Dr. Yanomamez announced that the GOP has been conducting illegal experiments for years and has kept the young Bush in a secret laboratory preparing him to win 100% of the Latino vote in the 2000 elections for his uncle, presidential candidate George W. Bush.

According to Yanomamez, the Republican party has calculated that Latinos are a simple minded people, and in their desperation to be validated will be easily captivated by George P.'s laboratory created 'Latinoness.' "As a millionaire college student at Rice University, George P. avoided all Latino student groups and cultural events like the brown plague. It was not until this top secret re-programming of his brain that he's become an Uber-Latino."

(much more...quite funny)

12. Frist is trying to spin it that they "got under their (the Demos) skin"
And doing a pathetic job.

Why am I reminded of David Cross's bit about the Southern White Male "voice"?

Reporter: "It sounds like the Democrats got under your skin too"

Frist: The American people won.

lol!

that Korea "is a danger, like Iraq but without the weapons of mass destruction."

Or had my coffee not kicked in yet? I couldn't believe that was what I heard.

21. "Their estimates is good."
Such is Frist's idea of the English language. :eyes:

And did you get a load of Rick Santorum trying to depict nominee William Pryor as a Catholic martyr? :puke: I'll bet Santorum doesn't know Dorothy Day from Dorothy Parker.

And I finally wrote Orrin Hatch to complain about the attempt to portray Pryor's opponents as anti-Catholic bigots. It looks as though it's time for Santorum to get the letter treatment. Who's with me?
