This isn't about supporting a District 22 candidate, or even a Texas candidate. this race has definite NATIONAL IMPORTANCE!!! So....

Contribute today, via our secure online server. Richard thanks you -- and so will the people of Texas.

1. NY TIMES REPORTS ON INVESTIGATION INTO DELAY FUNDRAISING
IMPROPRIETIES

Tom DeLay's political groups may have broken the law in their fundraising tactics -- the ones that installed a Republican majority in the Texas House, which handed DeLay his new Congressional districts in last summer's re-districting fiasco. Get the full story here:

http://www.nytimes.com/2004/02/16/politics/16DELA.htm

Everyone deserves better than this: our neighbors here in District 22, the people of Texas, and the citizens of the United States of America. Read on to see how you can help.

2. ENDORSEMENTS

Richard has been honored by endorsements from some of the most prominent Houston-area Democratic organizations -- Harris County Democrats, Galveston County Democrats, Filipino American Caucus For Empowerment, Houston Black American Democrats and the Tidelands Labor Council.

As the word spreads, the Campaign hopes to garner many more endorsements... you can help by letting your friends and neighbors know about Richard Morrison!

4. KICKOFF PARTY WAS HUGE SUCCESS

The Morrison Campaign Kickoff Party was held last week at the Marriott Hotel in Sugar Land, and the turnout was fantastic. Don Bankston, former Chair of the Fort Bend County Democrats, said, "I haven't seen this large a crowd at a political event in Fort Bend County since Clinton v. Bush in 1992."

Hosted by State Party Chair Charles Soechting and honoring Fort Bend County notable Dems like Congressman Bell, Representative Olivo, Councilman Quan, Commissioner Prestage, Judge Clouser, Constable Davis, Harris County Chairman Birnberg and Brazoria County Chairwomen Kay Bell-Mudd, the event had all the energy and spirit that the Morrison
campaign will need to unseat Tom DeLay. Don't miss the next one!

5. MAIL-OUT FUNDRAISER -- LET'S DO IT!

The Morrison Campaign needs to reach more District 22 voters. We've got to get the word out to let people know that they do not have to settle for Tom DeLay's dictatorial cronyism any longer. Can you help
us? https://www.onlinecontribution.com/rmorrison/donate.php

It will cost $5000 for design, printing, addresses and postage to send a mailer to undecided District 22 constituents. Donations are coming in (and we thank you so much if you've already contributed), but time is of the essence -- every day that goes by is one more day that DeLay's War Chest gets bigger. Even a few dollars will help -- if we
all join together, $5 or $10 here and there adds up. Richard would rather have lots of good people than a couple of fat checks from special interests that expect him to do their bidding.

Contribute today, via our secure online server. Richard thanks you -- and so will the people of Texas.

6. VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME TO THE CAMPAIGN

We like helpful hands, too! There are many ways that Houston-area supporters can help Richard Morrison evict King Tom from his throne on Capitol Hill:

- put campaign signs up
- offer your address for a yard sign
- phone banking to call District 22 voters
- block walking to spread the word
- drivers with mini-vans, SUVs or vans to help transport blockwalkers
- invite Richard to speak at your club or civic organization event
- or, host a party in your home!

Please contact the Campaign at 281-342-2080 or info@richardmorrisonfordistrict22.com to find out how you can help.

7. THANKS FROM RICHARD

~~ I know that daily life keeps us all busy. And, thanks to our Republican friends in Washington D.C., money is tight all around too. That's why it means so much to me that you take the time to learn about my campaign, and that some of you have contributed your hard-earned dollars to help this fight.

And it is certainly going to be a fight: Tom DeLay has overflowing bank accounts and powerful political friends, and we have to work ten times as hard to beat him. But I believe we can do it, because the power of people working together will always be stronger than corporate bribes disguised as political contributions.

So, thank you... for your time and for believing in my campaign, and for believing that democracy is not for sale. District 22 deserves a public servant, not a powermonger who would rather be a king than a Congressman. We will do it together.

~~ Richard Morrison

1. This guy will need at least 10 million $ to beat DeLay
DeLay usually wins with one hand behind his back. If he needs to pull out the other hand he can easily raise 10 million $. Does this guy have independent wealth? Does he plan on bombarding the airwaves constantly in the expensive Houston media market? That's what it will take.

3. Nope.... he's a lawyer, but I'd just call him upper middle class,
as far as I know. But he's getting a lot of support rallying behind him, so who knows? Anyway, NO REPUBLICAN should EVER run unopposed. Someone here posted that one day, and I have repeated it many times since.

5. Keep us posted.
If I didn't have other obligations, I'd move just to have the pleasure of voting against that disgusting DeLay.
