Nader might actually help...
Consider this: Democrats will not vote for Nader this time. We know what happened last time. Those who voted Green thought it wouldn't matter, and now they're so sorry.

But there might be some Republicans, anti-free traders, deficit hawks, and the like, who cannot bring themselves to vote Democrat, but might use Nader as an alternative; they're disgusted with Bush.

Maybe it's wishful thinking, but it's possible.

1. I think Nader will get such a tiny fraction of the vote
it won't even be worth mentioning. His message has zero appeal to the left this time. He may not even make it on the ballot in a lot of states anyway.

4. Gee, I've NEVER been laughed at...
I guess I'm doing a variation on "fool me once..."

My point is he's not going to get votes away from the Democrat this time, so who's vote (if any) could he get?

5. Yeh, I think ABB will carry the Dem whether they deserve it or not
The Dem will win just for not being $hrub.

UNLESS, Bu$hco steal the election again. Which is scary.

7. Well, if you look in the GD2004 forum, you will notice a fair number of DU
folks who hate the probably Dem nominee...(and a fair number who hate the #2 candidate about as much.)

6. I agree ...
I believe the third party candidate can only hurt the incumbant. I believe that Nader will provide refuge for Republicans who don't want to vote for AWOL, but would never consider voting Democratic.

And I agree that the Dem/Green Nader voters will not make the same mistake again.

Cheers
Drifter

8. He can help
By jumping off a cliff or inventing a time machine to go back to the year 2000 and talk himself out of running.
