right-wing ministers against Bush
My brother has a friend in Ohio whose dad is a conservative minister. He's affiliated with some conservative denomination that uses the word "Congregational" in its name. Real right-wing, "unsaved are going to Hell," "no instrumental music in church" kind of people.

Anyway, this guy and some of his pastor friends have apparently formed an anti-Bush group. They believe Bush and the neocons' neglect of the poor is so grotesquely unchristian that they can no longer support Bush for president. I don't know what the extent or power of this group is, but it's interesting that some of Bush's base is eroding for that reason.

I don't know who people like that will vote for, but I suspect they would jump on the bandwagon of any 3rd party candidate to the right of Bush, who talks about Jebus a lot. I hope someone like that runs and siphons off some of *'s support.

and maybe he'll share it with his friend.

The Despoiling of America: How George W. Bush became the head of the new American Dominionist Church/State
http://www.axisoflogic.com/artman/publish/article_5160.shtml

It's a long read but very frightening--those conservative ministers have got *'s and Pat Robertson's numbers (666).

Somebody else posted the link to this article on DU the other day.

5. probably not
The fact that he's Catholic (Vatican II or not) would probably turn them off. These guys are nutty, even if they do have some ounce of compassion in them.

9. My dad is a retired minister, Baptist.
He can't stand *. And it's getting to where many of his conservative friends at church have all stated they won't vote for * either.
