I did the strangest thing just now. Re: Howard Stern Show
My kid (10 yrs old) is here playing his gameboy, waiting for the bus, and I was listening to Howard (Seattle) and the past few segments were all about the brewing controversy and all which was fine.
After a commercial break, they came back and started talking about having sex with Paula Zahn..full out, and all the usual Howard sex talk..and here's the strange part.....I CHANGED THE STATION BECAUSE OF MY SON!
It was weird, I exercised my right to CHANGE the channel...it was sooooo easy, I couldn't believe it!!! I will switch back once the lad heads of to school.
I just thought it should be said here, and it has in various threads..but changing the channel does wonders for personal views.

1. "changing the channel does wonders for personal views"
I don't understand...how did changing the channel affect your personal views? Just want to understand. :)

2. Uhm..it didn't change my views....my point...
is that with everything we have out there...and if you don't want to hear or see something, you CAN change the channel.
It's like the whole Janet boob thing..we had it on here, and although we missed the "boob" daily in the early evening when we are watching tv with the kids (10 as mentioned and 7 yr old daughter) we see these Victoria's Secret spots that, for all intents and purposes are far more sexual then Janet's boob popping out.
We don't panic and drop to our knees and pray, we don't switch the channel, because we feel if we do, it will show the kids that it's a forbidden "fruit' type thing.
If they ahve questions we do our best to asnwer them as honestly as we can about sex, nudity etc. Yes they may be young, but I would rather be honest with them about it.

3. change the channel to WHAT? Another CC station?
that's the main problem.

Sure, I'd like to change CNN or MSNBC over to something that isn't harping on the jesus movie or the Colorado rape allegations, but to WHAT?

4. Good post. Hope that people don't depend on the gov't to decide what's...
...good or bad for them to hear!
