Hate Mail

I just read the Hate Mail. I'm getting really afraid. I can't imagine writing anything like this to the Free Republic. Has the country sunk that low? I'd love to see a real discussion of the issues we face. Is there a place where that takes place. I really don't expect it here except for Democratic Party discussions.

What happened to Mr. "I'm a uniter not a diveder."? I know, I didn't believe it either, but the spewing of hate is overwhelming.

Scary.

After I read the current batch of hate mail, I thought about how the Internet has been such a gift to anti-intellectual people with no writing skills: they now have a forum for publishing their bitter, hateful messages. What other forum do they have? They don't write well enough to publish columns or even letters to the editor. No paper--even rightwing ones--will print such profanity-laden, ungrammatical texts. (Don't you sometimes wonder how some of them acquired computer skills?)

4. It's all relative, if not subjective

A pity as I had read http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/956435/posts and a lot of the Free Republic folk are making relative amounts of sense for once, realizing Bush does not care about America. It's sad but it's true.

And it's Bush's hatred and divisiveness which makes us all that more riled.

He is to blame, not us.
