Did they find WMD or evidence of a program yet?
I remember a thread last night where someone posted a link from The Washington Times about uncovering WMD or evidence of a program. Did they find anything?

1. But wasn't it you...
...that posted that? The Washington Times isn't a viable source, it's a Moonie property.

2. No, I didn't post that link
And while it may not be the best source in the world, it at least made my eyebrows rise.

3. Why?
Have you read some of their other unsubstantiated headlines?

"Anonymous tipster says he has photos of Clinton with biracial lovechild..."

"Saddam met with Ossama, says anonymous white house official..."

It's as bad as the Enquirer, if not worse, because it pretends its a real news outlet.

5. On similar note
The sad fact is that its editorial pages seem to be decent, in comparison to the paper as a whole.

But on a similar note, do you go to newsmax.com a lot? I don't, but I have been there in the past. A few days ago, while looking at books in Borders, I noticed a book by Carl Lumbacher who is the head of newsmax.com. He wrote this book claiming that Sen. Clinton is power hungry and how he's uncovered her ruthless campaign to become president. I didn't read it all, but I flipped through to see what was in it. One particularly moronic section described Hillary's alleged problems with rage. Lumbacher actually uses Star as proof. The last time I checked, that wasn't exactly The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, or The Washington Post.

4. Program isn't going to cut it for me.
They were trying to sell this war to me based on the threat that Iraq posed. If intelligence existed that indicated Iraq was a threat in terms of WMDs (or even a WMD "program" like they are trying to spin it now), then it's not something that could just be packed up and hidden. Completely bogus and I won't believe one shred of "proof" they try to offer up to justify their criminal actions.

6. I'd buy the idea of a program if...

it was very advanced, thorough, and ready to help Saddam at a moment's notice. Or something like that. From what I've seen so far, they've uncovered a few parts here and there, not nearly enough to quality for what the president claimed or implied.

8. If there were items buried...
... at the base of the wall of the cleric's house, it could not have required a lot of digging.

The WT story was dated 8/01/03, and in it Kay said digging would commence tomorrow, meaning Saturday, Baghdad time.

It's now 10:30 pm Baghdad time, and the only story on Google News is the WT story from yesterday. Guess we'll have to wait until Sunday... or maybe Monday... or perhaps, November.

Cheers.
