How much do looks matter to the electorate?
Look, I'm not trying to be petty, but I do wonder if the way Kerry looks will influence the election.

I think our greatest president was our ugliest (Lincoln).

1. Looks Don't Matter Much
But I must disagree about our greatest president. Both FDR and Thomas Jefferson rank ahead of Lincoln, in my opinion, but then I'm an "unreconstructed" Southerner. Gore Vidal, who knows everything, thinks Martin Van Buren and James A. Garfield were wonderfully good-looking, but neither of them is remembered as particularly effective.
(To be fair, poor old Garfield hardly had the chance.)

4. I think a lot of folks like his looks - strong, intelligent, and kind.
To me he radiates goodness. And I suspect many others feel the same.

Even if he IS horsefaced. ;)

10. Not looking to get flamed
but I personally think that's why Kucinich was so readily dismissed, even by people who generally agree with his positions.
