D.U.ers please help: Top 3 news sources
If you were trapped on a deserted island and could only look at three sources for news a day, what would they be? I watch BBC usually at night, read the NYT online in the morning, and get on D.U.'s LBN and GD forums a couple of times a day, plus I have all these little bulletins coming in from online action groups, yet I still feel like I am missing alot. What are the top three you use, starting with the best at #1 and going down?

1. LBN
LBN is #1. Then the Guardian website. Then the BBC.

late breaking news items, usually right leaning. Got to know what the other side knows.

edit: Daily sources are NYT, Washpo, GoogleNews, YahooNews and of course LBN

5. Do you mean free republic?
That's actually a good idea, I used to listen to Rush on the way to work so I could figure out how he discombobulates extraneous factoids into pseudo-logical arguments, but I am un-employed now and can't make myself do it when I'm not trapped in my car. And I had to completely quit watching network news because the talking heads nauseate me so much, to me THAT is a right-wing take on things.

8. Yes, FreeRepublic. They are fanatics about news over there
and post a great deal of news stories. Usually I just read the stories, but sometimes read their comments on certain issues.

Guardian, BBC, NPR.

I am fortunate enough to receive WFAE in Charlotte that broadcasts the BBC at night and a LOT of NPR programming during the day.

The funny thing is that 10 miles down the road from where I live, I can't get the station. But my house does! :-)

6. I get a lot of my news from WBAI
which is a Pacifica station. "Democracy Now" can be heard on a bunch of community radio srations, as well as the Internet, of course.

But DU is definitely my best news source, way ahead of the New York Times.

7. BBC, NY Times, LA Times
Are the most reliable news sources I have found. They also have a knack of scooping every other news source on Earth. LBN is a fantastic news gathering source also :-)
