1. A lot of Democrats don't realize
how much the drug war impacts the issues they care about, such as the environment, civil rights, crime, poverty, racial equality, education, and more.

Ending the drug war could fix our economy and fund our schools. Our prison industrial complex can't build them fast enough to meet the demands of mandatory minimum sentences that remove the primary provider from many families.

This is a real issue, and, if the Democratic party would get on the media and force a debate on the issue, the ruth would come out. No reasonable person that is informed on this issue would support the drug war. It does more damage than the drugs do.

Just like Bill Mahr said, ending the drug war should be on the Democratic platform.

2. I don't think that you are going to see what you want to see

Kucinich has backed ending the war on drugs
Kerry has backed medicinal marijuana
Sharpton strongly opposes the Rockefeller drug laws here in NYC

3. we lost the drug war
time to quit pissing money away and legalize it.

It generates taxes, it hobbles organized crime and helps make poor kids realize that they need to start working on their education as selling drugs is no longer an occupation.

Give those poor moms and dads a little help they can use to keep their kids on the straight and narrow.

4. The only one I've heard speak directly on the issue
is Edwards. And he still thinks we can win the "drug war." 'Nuff said about Johnny.
