North Korea Lashes Out at U.S. Official

SEOUL, South Korea - Pyongyang called a U.S. State Department official "human scum" for his criticism of North Korea's leader, but the communist nation said it would still join talks on its suspected nuclear weapons program.

North Korea said Saturday that it won't deal with U.S. Undersecretary of State John Bolton because he described Kim Jong Il as a "tyrannical dictator" and said "life is a hellish nightmare" for many North Koreans.

Bolton had made the remarks during a visit to South Korea last week.

"Such human scum and bloodsucker is not entitled to take part in the talks," a North Korean Foreign Ministry spokesman said, according to the North's official KCNA news agency. "We have decided not to consider him as an official of the U.S. administration any longer nor to deal with him."

1. That's factually correct.
Actually when talking about the Bush Organized Crime Family, human scum bloodsucker is a compliment.

4. Well, Don, is this the silver lining to the North Korean crisis?
Even if--only God knows--we're ramping up to war, at least we'll get some good stand-up comedy, huh?

5. Looks like the Iraqi Information minister has a new job
handling communications for North Korea. That statement rivals anything al-Sahaf said during the war.

7. Won't get funny until today or tomorrow when the US says it was just...
...a little error in translation. You know? One big misunderstanding. They were really just trying to express how much they trust and admire Mr. Bolton.

6. Hey! They like him!
That's positively friendly of NK--they're paying attention to him and they haven't bolted from the talks.
