What if Saddam Hussein voluntarily surrenders?....rhetorical question
What if Saddam Hussein issues a new audio tape that can be verified independently somehow and he discloses that he is willing to surrender to UNITED NATIONS authorities only.....

Let's say he turns himself in with the help of a comrade who, by the US's declarations, would be rewarded the bounty money.

Do you thnk that a trial of Saddam Hussein would knock the Kobe Bryant trial off of 24/7 coverage? Or would it (Bryant trial) take precedence only in America to keep the stupid masses from learning about US complicity in helping Saddam Hussein in the past?

Saddam Hussein has "the goods" on this and past US administrations. I don't see him being "allowed" to surrender under those circumstances. If he were captured alive, I'm sure the media would told to just forget about any more "news" concerning Saddam, just like what happened with Noriega.

The government set up by the "founding fathers" and described by Lincoln as a government of the people, by the people and for the people is soo long gone, if it really ever existed at all....

1. he'd be 'shot trying to escape'
there is no 'dead or alive' for saddam. it's dead only.

nobody in the bush crime family wants saddam to live to rat them out...

2. I agree.
Saddam's surrender will never be allowed. If he told a fourth of what he knows about the Bush Crime Family, even Limpballs would turn.

3. I think
that if Saddam surrendered, it would be in the news and stay in the news. But I also think that if this happened, someone would conveniently take him out-probably some Iraqi who would tell how the brutal dictator slaughtered his family, etc, etc.(and would be rewarded highly-and secretly- for doing this service) Then the heat would presumably be off the US.

5. Think of the television ratings! Bigger than OJ!
If packaged correctly, it could be a good thing for the Bush Regime. It would be the ultimate distraction from the disintegration of the USA under Dubya.

And, because they have essentially complete control of US television media outlets, the Bush Regime could make it all mean whatever they want it to mean (for the vast majority of Americans who let cable tv do their thinking for them).

Yes, I think Karl could work with this scenario. Or they might just send in the cruise missiles to not have to deal with it...

6. It would be impossible, because Mr. Bush is a grudge holder, vendetta
overseer, who-in his twisted little monkey mind-would see that as another slam on his crooked personality. In his mind Saddam would be getting the better of him, my goodness, he'd be winning...can't have that happen. Insert plane crash, angry american gunslinger, car crash, suicide, here.

8. He better surrender to
a critical mass of BBC, and German/French reporters, on live satellite feed. Only chance he'd have.....
