Gavin Newsom sounds a little like a future Howard Dean type...

saw him on "60 Minutes 2" tonight and he looked real good. His explanation on why he was doing it was right on target and it was interesting the way they made it look like he was taking on the Gov of CA and the pRez (pez) at the same time - it's true, but still interesting.

Maybe it was just the Gay Marriage thing that reminded me of Dean, but I also think that it was the way he explained his equal rights beliefs. He was also described as a conservative. A Gov in a small state like Vermont gets the ball rolling and a Mayor in San Francisco picks it up and throws it in for a strike.

I think I'm going to make sure to follow this Mayor's career.

driving the right wing crazy...and I love it

I live outside of Sacramento and the show (KOVR) was excluded by a paid program...a Billy Graham crusade. I was really looking forward to watching as I am an acquaintance of Gavin's father, and also feel he is doing an excellent job bringing forward these issues.

Anyone have any ideas, other than the obvious, as to why this may have happened?
My cynicism is really running rampant!

.... local CBS channel 12, KCOY, chose to give us an hour of Billy Graham tonight instead of 60 Minutes II...

and I wish I had taped it and we could have worked something out later on how to get it to all of you... thanx (tears and hugz)

Just visited Harvey Milk Plaza in the Castro and I have to wonder how many well-armed lunatics might be out there plotting.

Gov Dean also recieved death threats and had to wear a bullet proof vest before and after his last election as governor. Mayor Newsom is probably getting more death threats than Dean did. He's a bigger target. I pray for his safety,
