I do not recall hearing about the death threats made on his life. So it failed to show normal Americans the true danger of the right-wing freak terrorists that call this country home.

SF Mayor Gets Police Protection

Undercover police offices are guarding San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom.

The mayor has apparently received a number of death threats over his stand on gay marriage. Up to three bodyguards now surround Newsom at any one time.

The mayor ordered the city clerk to begin issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples on February 12th. The city vows to continue the practice unless opponents get a court order to stop the weddings.

Death Threats in Oregon

Gay marriage debacle leads to death threats

The ongoing row over same-sex marriage in the USA has resulted in death threats being made against legal authorities, it has been revealed.

Commissioners from Multonomah County in the US state of Oregon claim they have received death threats after they decided to allow same-sex marriages to take place in the county last week.

The authorities told police officers that they received the written threats, along with obscene rants condemning them for the decision. And one commissioner told a local TV channel that there are no signs of the hate mail stopping, since gay marriage is becoming one of the most talked about issued in the country.

Commissioner Lisa Naito appealed to Oregon's citizens to understand why the decision was made to allow more than 1,200 couples so far to get married.
