Al-Qaeda allegedly claims responsibility for Madrid attack
Edited on Thu Mar-11-04 04:34 PM by _Jumper_
"Interesting" timing for Al-Qaeda to finally attack a non-US Western democracy...three days before elections in Spain...

http://www.haaretzdaily.com/hasen/spages/403722.html

<The London-based Arabic newspaper Al-Quds al-Arabi said Thursday it had received a claim of responsibility issued by The Brigade of Abu Hafs al-Masri in the name of Al-Qaida for the Madrid terrorist attacks that killed at least 190 people and wounded 1,247.

The claim received by email at the paper's London offices said the brigade's "death squad" had penetrated "one of the pillars of the crusade alliance, Spain."

"This is part of settling old accounts with Spain, the crusader, and America's ally in its war against Islam," the claim said.

Referring to Spain's Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar, the statement asked: "Aznar, where is America? Who will protect you, Britain, Japan, Italy and others from us?">

10. er AQ isn't trying to win friends or influence people. No one ever claimed
they were the good guys.

They are terrorist fanatics, even if they are the poster children for all the CIA covert ops around the planet.

2. I sent this to BBC but they are not likely to publish it

"It is amazing how faltering politicians jump on the bandwagon to raise their political fortunes. Blame this or that, but they never blame themselves and their actions which has what has led to 911 and now 311.

When will the world see that peace can never come by confrontation. Peace comes by dialogue and understanding.

The British had years of conflict in Northern Ireland. The Israeli's have not solved their problems with their aggressive stand against the Palestinians, Syrians, etc. The Pakistani's and Indians have not solved their problems in Kashmir by their intransigence.

Bush has been using 911 to promote his election campaign. So also the Spanish government will use 311 to promote its election campaign.

The bombing in Madrid has the classic stamp of those who wish to promote their personal political ends and does not reek of ETA or any other terrorist group. However, when one is investigating oneself, one finds the most convenient scapegoat unable to defend itself. So it is convenient to blame ETA and Al Qaeda - never the true force behind this human tragedy."

of anything that comes out of this administration or a biased paper like Haaretz. It's in their interest to pin every frickin death on earth to Muslim terrorists -- helps advance their agenda.

4. so... even with "two-thirds of the al Qaeda leadership"
caught or killed by the brilliant and steady leadership of the insipid chimp...

still pretty effective I'd say.

is this why Blair was SO nervous about a major attack there?

anyone think this will interrupt the insipid chimp's fund raising tour?

8. If Al Queda did it then...
Bush is partly to blame.

If he didn't drop the ball on Osama and change his focus to the war in Iraq instead... then we would have had Osama and more of Al Queda by now.

9. has any other org taken credit?
Edited on Thu Mar-11-04 04:25 PM by radwriter0555
I'd be interested in knowing.

But frankly, this truly does sound like an al queda operation.. the difference IS when the bush regime or blair's whores TELL us that AQ has done something.

This time it looks like AQ is RIGHTFULLY taking credit.

Never said they were the good guys.

11. This is "interesting"
<Earlier Thursday evening, police probing the attacks found a van with detonators and an Arabic-language tape with Koranic verses, and officials don't rule out any line of investigation, said Interior Minister Angel Acebes.>

Remember the convenient Atta van at Logan?
