69% still favor Bush's war? I don't believe it.
On Meet The Press, they had a poll which stated that 69% of the American public, and 50% of Democrats were in favor of taking out Saddam. I don't believe that number, but even if it was true, the spin that they gave on the show was that those numbers translated to support for the war itself. That is not the question that was asked. It only talked about removing Saddam, which I wouldn't be suprised that people would be in favor of. I suspect that if they asked if taking out Saddam was worth the death of 1 American soldier a day and $1 billion a week, which would be a more accurate assessment of the war, the numbers would have been dramatically different.

2. Did you see Tweety gushing over the polls numbers?
I think that the polls are full of shit. Do you know anyone that has been polled or what the demographics are that has been polled? We don't know that and until we do the polls are a bunch of Shit.

7. I don't have it both ways!
We have a right wing-nut press that gushes over poll numbers and the Piece Of Shit that occupies our White House right now.
They bring poll numbers up every time someone questions Jr and they want us to believe how popular the Bastard is.

Why don't they provide us with the demographics that they have taken the polls from.

Can you answer that question.

I DON'T KNOW ANYONE THAT LIKES THE PIECE OF SHIT AND HIS POLL NUMBERS ARE A BUNCH OF GARBAGE.

didn't want Clinton impeached? They also brought up these polls during impeachment...and the fact you don't know anyone who likes Bush just proves your friends think as you do...hardly shocking...

edit: missing word

30. the press has changed
rather dramatically since 9/11/01. Picture Dan Rather on Letterman saying that he'd line up wherever his pResident told him to. They ceased on that day fulflling their proper role in questioning the govt., and became servile proponents of that govt. instead. The differences in press coverage between the Clinton and * administrations should be obvious to anyone.

27. Face the facts?
The press has gone to the right, censorship is alive and well, polls and statistics are easily manipulated, there is a growing discontent in the country with Bush that is only getting bigger. I think I'm facing the facts pretty well, thank you very much.

I live in Chicago and people are out of work. I am also a student and our loans have been cut.

I talk to people anywhere I go and when I take cabs and public transportation and I haven't met one person that likes the Piece Of Shit.

I also have spoken to Rethuglicans and they don't like him.

To dinner and a movie....or a six pack quickie in the car?

Enough with the Rambo Jingoisms. The word is killing. We want to kill Saddam. We want to make sure he cannot talk.

"Bring em on", "take him out", "lets roll".....may I point out that in the battle against Osamma we have some prisoners in Gitmo...a huge problem in Afghanistan but OBL has a turned this country upside down.

Please...this is no war movie folks.

He will talk and you know this may sound nuts but I feel sorry for his family.
Yes, I feel sorry for his family and we don't know the facts about what went on in Iraq.
What we have heard have been horror stories but how do we know that the people that talk about how horrible SH was are not part of the Bush Crime Cabal?
His country was intact when he was in office and It hurts me to see all of the relics gone from Iraq.
The people didn't deserve what is happening there right now. They lifes are gone and they are afraid of us.

I have a Iraq friend in College and he keeps telling people that he is from another country. I feel sorry for him and his wife and kids.
He is afraid.

10. Definitely not Chicago, LA, New York or any other Big City
Probably they took the poll out in the middle of the desert. I think that they took the poll in Connecticut or some other rich area. They might also be polling the Cuban population in Florida.

OR

They might be polling republicans that are on voting lists.

21. Well, I live near a Big City
- Philadelphia, and most people I run into would agree with these poll numbers. I run into very few people who were against the war or give a damn about Yellowcake lies. Most people do seem to think that Iraq was fair payback for 9/11. I think many people on DU have their heads in the sand when it comes to support for Bush and the war. Every time a poll comes out showing pro-Bush/war sentiment, people post saying the poll is a lie. WAKE UP people.

25. Polls and statistics are the easiest things to screw with.
If you believe everything you believe on Fox, etc., then sure, believe the polls. What makes them sacred, or immune from being manipulated to influence the public?

29. You live NEAR a big city and not in the city
I live in Downtown Chicago and I am not out in the burbs anymore. People in the city are different.

I say bring the polling on in Chicago or any other big city.

Why don't they do a live camera polling where they ask people walking down the street about JR.
They use to do it with our great President Clinton. Why the hell don't they take a live poll on the Bush Bastard that's in office. Why?
Because they are afraid of the REAL results.
