George, Jeb, and Bucky and their evil ways.
Apology to Bev Harris, but I just pulled this great page from her very long link below about the Bush family (and Kerry's part in investigating...read the thread):

http://www.bushnews.com/april2.htm
SNIP..."HOW JEB AND GEORGE MAKE A BUCKY BY PRIVATIZING GOVERNMENT
"Buried in the Legislature's budget bill is a proposal by Gov. Jeb Bush to save $700,000 by privatizing elevator inspections. Officials at the state Department of Business and Professional Regulation told The St. Petersburg Times that private companies already do 87 percent of the state's inspections. So what's the catch? Turns out William ``Bucky'' Bush, the governor's uncle and a fundraiser for George W. Bush's presidential campaign, owns a 12.5 percent interest in National Elevator Inspection Services of St. Louis. Could that have anything to do with the governor's proposal? No, no, of course not. ``That whole line of thinking is very annoying and very insulting,'' says Bucky. But if it happens, he'll locate an office in the state and go after the business, he adds. Definitely a man headed to the top." --Miami Herald Editorial

"Either you're crooked or you're not crooked, I guess is the way to put it bluntly. Either you're somebody who can be bought, or you're somebody who's running on principle. My job is to convince the American people that I'm a man running on principle." --George W. Bush"

1. Running on PRINCIPAL???
Geez. No apologies needed, that thread was way to long, but it was also pretty awesome.

By the way, love your screen name.

2. He's not running on principal
and he's not stating that he's running on principal.
He just aims to CONVINCE people that he is.

4. Ah, but he is running on principal...
... and certainly a great many people's capital gains, too....

As for principle, he wouldn't know it if it bit him in the ass.

Cheers.

5. 3 cute Bushisms from that site.
"This is historic times....whether they be Christian, Jew, or Muslim, or Hindu, people have heard the universal call to love a neighbor just like they'd like to be called themselves. --George W. Bush, 10.09.03.

My Favorite:

"Washington is a town where there's all kinds of allegations. You've heard much of the allegations. And if people have got solid information, please come forward with it. And that would be people inside the information who are the so-called anonymous sources, or people outside the information—outside the administration."
--George W. Bush, Chicago, September 30, 2003

6. Self-dealing
You know, that kind of self-dealing is the way the Bushes have always done it.

Here in Texas, what W's mentor, Hicks, did with the University of Texas Fund (UTIMCO) should be criminal, and at the very least cause outrage in the hearts of all Texans.

But the way they get away with it, I think, is the same way they get away with their more and more egregious lies and rollbacks of 40 years of national progress: they hit us with an insult a day, and frankly, there's no way to react to and deal with every one of them.

In other words, we have outrage fatigue.

Clinton was easy for the Republicans to go after, because he had one bad business deal (Whitewater) and one major affair (Monica). They got to obsess on those for eight years.

How do you react to the constant barrage of outrages we are faced with with this corrupt administration?
