....you are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!!! We 'America(ns)' are soooo freaking smug, aren't we? When something happens here, it's so nice to hear (expected) that other nations will send their sympathy/support. When something happens in another country - what do we do??? Ehm, well nothing it seems (unless, of course, there's some political advantage and we send 'troops').

went all over. We also went to Barcelona and southern Spain. Just a beautiful, laid back country w/ great people. I just felt awful all day long thinking of the poor people of Spain and they don't deserve this. No one does. I also couldn't help but think that it could have been my friend and I on those trains. I've said many prayers today for the Spainish people. It still bothers me to see them in such mourning and pain. The country was like 95-96% against the Iraq war but their asshole PM Anzar buddied up w/ Bush and became part of the coalition of the(un)willing. We're not sure if it was ETA or "The Base" or both. But It makes my blood boil to think that b/c their elitist, repug-like PM went against the will of the Spainish people and joined the Iraq war, nearly 200 innocent Spainards lost their lives!!! Assuming it was Al Qaeda's revenge for entering the war. Bin Laden's tape last Oct said Spain was a target. Who's next Austrailia??

Do we call a florist in Spain and credit card for a single white rose to be sent in memory of the DU?.

How would that work? How much would that cost? 20$ at most right?

I sent an email to the Spanish embassy offering my condolences. A handwritten letter would be better. But flowers won't help the wounded or the families of the dead.
