does the U.S Military kick out lesbians who open ?
does anyone know if the military policy of kicking out gays also applies to lesbians who come out about it or are found out to be lesbian ?

also, i heard bill clinton say that the gays in the military thing became an issue for him when he heard that gays who were out were allowed to continue serving during the first gulf war because there weren't any others who could do the job they were able to do. but once the war was over and there was no need for that job to be performed anymore they were kicked out. that's a pretty crappy thing and even in those years i would think most would see the wrongness in it.

i saw bill clinton recently on tv, just yesterday i believe talking about same sex marriage. he seemed to be for it and the way he talked showed his signing of DOMA was political rather than personal belief. he seems to be saying that things are changing and will continue to in terms of gay rights for the better.i always knew his signing of doma was for political reasons though.

1. "Don't ask don't tell" applies to both men and women
So, yes, stating publicly that you're a lesbian, or having sex with a woman, can get you kicked out.

You can also get kicked out if another servicemember accuses you of being a lesbian and your asshole CO takes his word for it.

2. Yup.
That's about how it works too.

Right after DADT went into effect an Air Force Colonel outted herself and was booted shortly thereafter.

3. Are you speaking about the
Washington Army National Guard Colonel? She was a nurse I think, Margarethe Cammermayer.

4. That would be her.
It's been a few years, so the memory on all the details is a bit faded.
