Firefighters to go after Bush 'loudly and aggressively'
When, in the future, the Bush campaign is “using firefighters for their photo op,” the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) “will loudly and aggressively” make known the administration’s cuts to federal funds for first responders, Harold Schaitberger, the group’s general president, told The Hill.

Schaitberger, responding to a controversial campaign ad featuring fire fighters, said President Bush has “the right to focus on his performance and leadership during a catastrophic and disastrous day.”

But he added that the use of images in the ad, “by any candidate, for any reason, is unacceptable,” especially for “partisan, purely political reasons.”

Sen. Trent Lott (R-Miss.) is among several GOP members who have jumped to the president’s defense, calling the criticism of the ads “totally political” and “purely partisan.”

Schaitberger said the administration had “failed the profession,” and he listed initiatives for first responders that the administration cut, including programs to add staff and equipment to firehouses.

1. O Ho! Trent Lott, eh...
imagine...PARTISAN! Who ever would have thought such a thing was possible!

Those dastardly Democrats. ( Remember to 'vomit' out the sord 'Democrats" when quoting Those saintly Republicans.)

My guess is that even Strom Thurmond would not be 'partisan' since they're just so honorable and righteous. Makes one sick to one's stomach.

6. That's right.
Thurmond was a godly, upstanding man because he was a Republican. Now, if he had been a Democrat, he would have been called something else -- like "rapist." <sarcasm>

Funny how those family values where the Repubs talk about how important it is for kids to have a father and a mother in the same house don't apply to white, powerful men who rape the family's servant and basically don't take any part in the resulting child's upbringing.

criticising some of the bravest and most selfless people on this planet: firefighters. No way a scumbag like Lott's gonna come out looking good from that fight. Ha Ha!

7. I just got a very enjoyable mental image:
Trent Lott has his Helmet Head Hair blasted by a firehose wielded by an angry firefighter. Ahhhhh. Now that is something I'd pay to see.

10. So sad.
As the mother of a Marine on active duty (currently in Korea), I truly fear this man. And I will NEVER forgive George W. Bush for saying "Bring It On!" to terrorists while our troops are in harm's way. Unbelievable in a commander in chief.

13. Can anyone stop firefighters from 'running code'......
.....that is, running with lights and sirens, past every Bush* speachafying event and fundraiser from now until the election?

Somehow I'd like to see the Secret Service try to stop those annoying emergency vehicles from passing Bush*'s events and telling them they have to go around. :) (hint, hint)

I wonder how the public would react to hearing sirens every time he opens his mouth?
