Uh-Oh Bush really has us on this issue
I mean how can you argue with THAT!!!!

http://www.georgewbush.com/Environment/

Preserving the Beauty and Quality of Our Environment

President Bush believes that good stewardship of the environment is not just a personal responsibility, it is a public value. Americans are united in the belief that it is important to preserve our natural heritage and safeguard the land around us.

The President has launched initiatives that express this same commitment. His Administration has acted in a comprehensive way to achieve impressive results. By almost every indicator environmental quality in the United States is improving with cleaner air, water, and land, and improved public health.

The President believes that the federal government has an important role to play in protecting our environment and he has introduced new and innovative policies to achieve these goals. The President favors common-sense approaches to improving the environment while protecting the quality of American life. Over the past two-and-a-half years, the Administration has introduced initiatives that have already begun to deliver significant environmental results for all Americans.

10. Couldn't they have used a picture with him holding an axe?
I mean, appearing with Gale Norton is certainly reassuring, but I want PROOF of Bush's environmental committment! ;-)

12. Devious
It in NO WAY says he does work with them, so technically he's not lying. It just says "WHEN...we CAN..." so sometime in 2050 . . .

15. Didn't they work with them on the energy policy?
Remember? About 100 Conservationist, environmentalist, and consumer group representatives were given 5 minutes with Cheney's office*.

*-5 minutes per group with a staffer all of them with a staffer and they had not been given any information about what was in the policy or might be in the policy or what was being discussed. Basically they each read their mission statement. See how nice it is when you CAN work together.

8. Yeah I think they need to an (dare I say) a qualifier or two
"By almost every indicator (that we agree with or that supports this claim in any way) environmental quality in the United States is improving with cleaner air, water, and land, and improved public health."

16. Well, give them credit ...
... for not being able to complete their pillage and rape the environment in three years. I guess it takes a little longer than that to both destroy the few safeguards we've had and also dump the toxins, clear-cut the old growth, and spew the effluents of greed and predation. Give 'em a longer chance and a healthy 'environment' will be something that can only be bought from an HVAC dealer. (Only the rich deserve a healthy environment, didn't ya know?)

13. One needs an instruction booklet to go along with this administration...
...you listen to what they say and then you know that they are doing or intend to do exactly the opposite. Their talent has been: lie and lie big because then everyone will believe you.

14. This may be slightly OT but,
every time I see a picture of Bush clearing brush or when he stands in front of a forest, like when he made some speech about conservation, I really wish that there were Ents (the tree-creatures from the "Lord of the Rings" films). I'd like to see Treebeard just slap him out of the way.

19. After looking for websites to see just what
these indicators are and the ratings etc....I was about to give up as it is so technical and beyond my understanding, when I found this:

http://msnbc.msn.com/id/3032493/

Yes on MSNBC. On the right is a place to click that says "Presidents record" That part gives a pretty good rundown of the Bush environmental record.

Bush is a liar.

21. The environment is cleaner due to W's policies - that much is true
all the factories in the US are shutting down. Less and less factories spewing pollution into the air means less pollution.

So, yes, his policies are cleaning up the air.
