Does anyone here think that Shrub might not be on the ballot?
Maybe I'm crazy but my instincts tell me that if shrub continues to slide in the polls he will not be on the ballot. The repugs have so much sleaze and greed about them that I believe they would do just about anything to stay in power.
You have to figure that if a quarter of what we believe they have done is true it goes that a democratic administration would be able to put quite a few behind bars.

3. If they ran someone without all the bush baggage...........
they may stand a better chance with middle america. Of course all this assumes that his poll numbers continue to drop and John Kerry's numbers continue to rise.

if our so called 'democratic' legislature hadn't changed the rules to let him have the gop convention at the best possible 9-11 exploitation time

8. Have the other states
that are affected by the late GOP convention backed down as well? It seems a shame that Bush doesn't have to play by the rules -- he can have his convention beyond the deadline for certifying candidates in order to exploit 9/11, but still get on the ballot. What's up with that?

4. I don't think that is likely
Meaning, I think he will definately be on the ballot.

My main reason for thinking this is the fact that they are pushing the whole "No one can keep us safe except for Bush" angle.

5. No good options for the GOP
Yet it could happen because Bush personally IS unstable and capable of goofing up badly enough to flame out. Circumstances also could spin out of control and his enemies(not us though) could do something to make it happen.

6. Not going to happen
The GOP is not an organization that publicly admits it's mistakes.

Besides, any candidate they chose would presumably be someone who had previously supported Bush, so they would still be saddled with the Bush baggage.

7. The only repub they could run in place of bush that might...
make a real difference would be McCain because he would pull in the independents and republicans that are disaffected with Bush but the cabal behind Bush would never let that happen, they need a simpering idiot in order continue their PNAC plans.
