Which is a greater threat to the average American?
Joe Liberman just repeated once again the old saw that was used by DLC and embraced by the Neo-cons that the “era of big government is over.”
It raised this question, which is the greater threat to the well fare of the average American big government or big business. At one time we had three countervailing forces, big labor, big business and big government. During the 60s, 70s, 80s,and 90s the dynamic tension between labor and business was eliminated as government once again siding with big business emasculated and marginalized labor. The people will stand naked without the ombudsman of big government.
Even now Bush through nominations of Neo-con pro-business judges is intending to deny the judicial system as an venue for the people’s compliant about the behavior of big business.
The next question that is always unasked for those like Liberman, who like to declare the era of big government is over, is “what now, who will protect the people?”
