Why does network marketing exist?

Six years ago, I was on my way to graduating high school and I got involved in this scam for selling long distance to people. You had to pay for a training kit and then try to get new recruits primarily and try to make money. It did not take me long to realize that it was not good. I learned from my mistake.


In my thread about how horrible the job fairs are, someone mentioned these "companies" showing up at them to try to recruit people. I dealt with one of them. They usually try to prey on naive and desparate people. I went to a meeting for one of these things, but since I was too smart by this point I did not take the bait.

With the Bush economy, we are getting screwed over more and more. These people have more people that they can prey upon. They seem to be flourising? If we ever turn things around, we need to address this seriously.
