A bunch of excited democrats at a "tea" for Joe Hoeffel. Before the speeches got going, general socializing. The topic of the moment was the internet and how much better it is for getting information than the mainstream media.

We really don't need Lieberman democrats around here. In fact the whole dem party has rejected Lieberman dems.

Sure, there's a lot of utter crap here, just like any other place on the net. There's also a lot of damn good stuff here, as one poster a while ago said: it's kind of a bit depressing to hear about a major "breaking" story in the news that we've been aware of for months here on DU.

There's a lot of utter crap on the so called "credible" news as well, the problem is that it has been branded with the label credible, and thus is taken as the truth by most people.

The solution is the same for both situations: Think critically! Seriously, people who identify as 'liberal' but refuse to think critically about what they are told as news are just as much sheep as anyone else.
