Has Chris Matthews secretly been supporting Dean?
Edited on Tue Mar-16-04 03:06 PM by devrc243
This guy also wrote the piece today on Kerry being repsonsible for 9-11:eyes: He has quite a "work-list" going. Everything from bashing Clinton about so-called "China-gate," to Bush's AWOL. Anybody ever heard of Paul Sperry before and is he really a pirrahna or just an opportunistic junkie?

Chris Matthews: 'The French were right'
So was Dean, MSNBC host says, calling Iraq war 'big mistake'

WASHINGTON – "Hardball" host Chris Matthews doesn't hide his opinion on his MSNBC political talk show. In fact, he rarely lets guests get a word in edgewise. But apparently he's been holding back. Appearing as a guest on the same network's "Imus in the Morning" show today, Matthews said that the Democratic primary race "sucks" now that Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts has taken the lead over former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean.

--snip--

He said Dean was the only candidate with the "balls" to stand up to President Bush and say the Iraq war was "wrong."
Matthews previously had expressed at least tepid support for the war, and had been somewhat critical of the French position.

--snip--

"We declared war on Islam, and it was a big mistake," Matthews said of the administration's pre-emptive strike on Iraq.

He revealed he's been rooting for Dean and that his son is a big Dean booster

2. I thought that Matthews was pretty fair to Dean
when alot of other media types weren't but when Dean didn't come back he then began to boost John Edwards as an alternative to keep the Democratic race going.

7. I find it hard for Matthews to support anyone
except Bush. He sits on many sides of the fence it seems, guess that's nothing new:eyes:

8. Chris Matthews....
is the whore of all whores! Seriously. I tried to watch his show last week and everytime a dem goes on the show he attacks them and does not allow them to finnish what they are saying. Then, last night he has Pat Buchanan on his show who says that President Nixon's character was much greater then Kerry's and Matthews just goes along with it, not ever asking for any proof. His show is unwatchable!

12. And then
He'll have a guest like Mario Cuomo and sit there transfixed while Cuomo eloquently takes Bush apart.

So I keep going back.

BTW, where's Bill Press? If we have to suffer Buchanon, couldn't we at least have Press?

10. World net Daily is a garbage right wing site
full of disinformation and lies. I thought using such sources was not permitted at DU, and if it is , you are supposed to post some kind of disclaimer. Anything they print is a lie IMO.

ps If matthews was for Dean it sure didn't help when the corporate media slammed the door on him.

18. Glad you
brought this to my attention, 'cause this was the link I found when I googled Paul Sperry, which in turn had the Kerry story about 9-11 from today on it.

Hmmm...makes perfect sense now.

11. Chris Matthews supports Dean
Chris Matthews supports nobody but G.W Bush Last night on hardball he and Pat Buchanan raked Kerry over the coals for saying that American soldiers committed atrocities in Vietnam and claimed he should apologize for it that coming from those two is ludicrous They never served I guess they never heard of Me li

13. My dad voted for Edwards
and I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to determine who I voted for. But, of course, parents and children always vote alike.

14. I watched Matthews make Noonan cry
I think it's pretty tough to figure out what allegiances he might have. You could probably find death threats to him on Freep right now.

17. If Chris Matthews supported Dean
..then it would have been that Chris Matthews thought Dean would be the easiest one to mutilate and give Bush the victory. Imus, for some reason has been pumping up Kerry and supporting him. I don't think Chris likes that----he spends the night trying to give America and republican victory and he doesn't need some damn Imus to go all Dem on him and push for Kerry. Must be poop a load in his pants over Stern!!! Matthews several months ago was put in charge of the whole election coverage, build up, propaganda (the whole ball of wax) on MSNBC. Now you go figure---ya think they put him there to put Dean or Kerry or any Dem in the White House??? Tip O'Neill must be turning is his grave that this terd was ever on his staff. He couldn't analyze his way out of a paper bag. Seriously, he is pathetic.
