Taos Residents to Topple Rumsfeld Statue - 1yr. Anniversary
Taos Residents to Topple Statue of Donald Rumsfeld

To mark the one-year anniversary of the beginning of the Iraq war, Action Coalition of Taos and Veterans for Peace will topple a twenty-foot effigy of Taos resident Donald Rumsfeld. This action will take place during a rally at the Taos Plaza calling for the end of the Iraqi occupation, one of hundreds worldwide taking place on Saturday, March 20th with the theme "The World Still Says No to War."

9. it used to be very cheap
but that was back in the 70s--I shudder to think what it costs to live there now--however, I was looking at properties, and there were some real bargains still--I saw a few acres with a cabin for under 25,000, and you can get into a small earthship at a community for under 100,000.

7. I can only hope Rummy is in town when the "festivities" begin!
I love Taos, and I can't imagine living there with Rummy as a neighbor. Likewise, I wouldn't want to live in the same town as Cheney or Junior.

8. Seems like an odd place for Rummy to live what with all those
Native Americans and Mexican Americans living there. I love the plaza and the old part of Taos, but don't like the fact that rich white people have taken over the best real estate.
