1. Hmmm. Look at southern Idaho. What are those, movie star ranches?

For that matter, compare blue western Illinois with the red-tilting Chicago area. It doesn't look like this geography reflects popularity.

bush gets a ton of cash from all over the place and from many dem strongholds (and yes obviously much comes from small groups but man the thing is still frightening).
