Al Gore and George W. Bush in 1979

Just saw a part of the first televised HOR session on Washington Journal. The year was 1979. A two minute clip was shown of the House of Representatives and after the chaplain said a prayer guess who was the first speaker? The man who received the most votes for president, none other than Al Gore!

I wonder what Chimpy was doing in 1979?:

coke binge
drunken stooper
arguing with his dad
picking his nose at a ballpark

Any other guesses?
