I just participated in my first ever antiwar demonstration!
In freeperland (aka Kirksville, MO)

Amnesty International held a demonstration today on the Truman State University courtyard, and I had the privilege of showing up about fifteen minutes before the media did. Which means that I got interviewed
A rough transcription of the interview is as follows:

Reporter: Why are you out here today?
Me: I would like to ask the president a question. Before the war, 92% of Iraqis had drinkable water. Now, only 60% of Iraqis have water that is safe to drink. Where, President Bush, is the progress in that?

Reporter: This is the first-year anniversary of the war. There are some soldiers in this area who have died. What are your opinions on that?
Me: Today is a most unfortunate day. I mourn for those who died in a war to rid Iraq of weapons of mass destruction, but none have been found. We went to liberate Iraq, but now Iraq will be under military occupation for years to come.

Reporter: President Bush says that the war in Iraq has made the world safer. What do you have to say about that?
Me: I must disagree. As bad as Saddam was, he actually kept fundamentalist/extremist Islamists out of his country. Before the war, Iraq was NOT a breeding ground for terrorists. It is now.

I had lots of fun. Look for me on the local Kirksville/Ottumwa affiliate of ABC News! B-)

this was perfect:

Me: I must disagree. As bad as Saddam was, he actually kept fundamentalist/extremist Islamists out of his country. Before the war, Iraq was NOT a breeding ground for terrorists. It is now.

10. Thank you. I also heard that about 20% more Iraqis are dying now
than under Hussein (unnatural causes I mean). I'm trying to find these numbers on my own but no luck so far.

9. Wonderful, enlightening statements. Im very impressed!
I remember going to my first protest last year.

It was amazing.

A beautiful day in Los Angeles. Hooked up with a good friend of mine. Saw every different group and ethnicity represented, (even some card carrying Republicans against the war)and topped it off being about 25 feet way from Jackson Browne, dancing to his music and enjoying a free JB concert.
