I tell them the US is NOT better off with a needless occupation and rebuilding of a hostile Middle Eastern country!

we enabled him. we gave him the knowledge to gas his own people. it was poppy's adminsistration that botched the warning for him to cease and desist prior to the first iraq war.

we are responsible, at least in part for the thousands upon thousands, specificly 1000 women and children per week who amnity international and the un said were starving to death because he refused to feed his people with the money from the oil for food program.

for once, the USA stepped up to right a wrong and i'm sure the 46,000 people who are alive today because we did are glad for it.

And you believe Saddam would have murdered 46,000 in the last year? Maybe you are watching too much Faux News. Even if you believe that, pleasee offset the thousands of non-combatants that the US has killed and will kill on your balance sheet. No country operates in a vacuum. But the Iraqi people have to solve their own problems and install their own government for a lasting solution. Anything we unilaterally impose is doomed to failure and will cost thousands of American lives. The invasion was a huge miscalculation. The collective wisdom of the UN and most of the world agrees with me. Now we have to get the UN involved, give the Iraqis real control of their destiny, and GET THE HELL OUT OF THERE.

If not us, who??? This logic will lead to WWIII as we take our troops around the world to clean up every country we don't like. Sovereign nations are entitled to self-determination, not destiny as ordered by the US government.
