WTF is going on with these moderators????

I think they are being overzealous in their locking of threads. I just saw a very important thread about Richard Clarke, with a link to ABC News, locked, and linked to a somewhat similar thread with a link to the DRUDGE REPORT. C'mon people, show a little common sense f'er cryin' out loud.

7. I believe gsh999 wasn't objecting to a duplicate being locked. . .

as he was which duplicate gets locked. Because someone hangs out at Drudge's Dungeon and posts his nonsense here regularly, shouldn't preclude someone else from posting a better-sourced document. With the application of a little "common sense," the rule should be applied that the better thread remains while the lesser link is locked.

5. it wasn't a dupe

the first one linked to a CBS story.

the second one linked to an ABC story.

different stories posted at different times.

different clarke quotes in them.

i was surprised to see them locked too.
