Did You Happen To See David "Axis-Of-Evil" Frum On Bill Maher's Show?
What an immature and petty little shell of a man he is! In his attempts to be "cute" and clever, he ended up sounding like a high school sophomore punk. His insults thrown at Gore Vidal were embarrassing and his "gotta-have-the-last-word" attitude was a very revealing display of poor behavior. --- Even Bill Maher made a comment along the lines of "... if you'd let me speak, you might find out I'm on your side."

What a jerk Frum is. He's like a rude knock-off of Tucker Carlson... only without the bow tie. I get the feeling that Frum's behavior is representative of most everyone in the Bush* administration.

4. I think that was one of Bill Maher's
best show's. Everytime the poster child for the smirk regime "david frum" had a verbal bowel movement Gore Vidal kicked his ass.:kick:

14. Interesting....I thought it was the worst show this season
Last week was great. I think my opinion has to do with the mix he has on the panel. And Vidal tried, but really now..he was weak.

20. Vidal isn't weak actually.
He just isn't particularly well suited for that type of forum.

He needs to be able to complete a sentence to be effective. Mahr's not especially conducive to complete thoughts.

But I agree it was the weakest show of the season. I thought it had more to do with Mahr than Vidal, though.

2. David Frum was fired by Bush for "axis of evil"
Bush told him(speechwriter) to give him a reason to invade iraq in his 2002 State Of The Union.

Frum did "Axis Of Evil".

When it backfired Frum was fired.

These are Christians? These are nice people?

Hitler is so proud of them.

5. Actually his wife got him canned.

She was so proud of hubby creating the catchphrase "axis of evil" that she had to boast about it in emails to family and friends and from there it got into the media. Shortly after that Frum left his speech writing career to "pursue other opportunities." Not that he was fired of course. He claims he quit entirely of his own volition. LOL

Here's the email sent out by his wife Danielle Crittenden.

Dear all,

I realize this is very "Washington" of me to mention but my husband is responsible for the "Axis of Evil" segment of Tuesday's State of the Union address. It's not often a phrase one writes gains national notice—unless you're in advertising of course ("The Pause that refreshes")—so I'll hope you'll indulge my wifely pride in seeing this one repeated in
headlines everywhere!!

17. Frum wrote "Axis of Hatred"
in his draft, but the fundies in the White House wanted something that sounded more "theological", so they switched it to evil. Frum only gets credit for "Axis of".
His wife must be a moron...that email is simply unbelievable!
The pause that refreshes??? What is she talking about? It's practically incoherent.

23. I think this is what she meant
I think she was comparing her husband's creativeness in coming up with the "axis of evil/hatred" slogan to the advertising sloganeers who coined the expression "the pause that refreshes" to sell soft drinks (I think it was Coke). In other words Frum's slogan would stick in peoples' mind like the "pause that refreshes" sticks in your mind to persuade you to buy Coke.

Guess what, she's a Canadian too. It should make you feel better in the USA to know that the US doesn't have a corner the production of dumbasses. We've got them here too, but the ones that don't go into the Alliance party (now the new Conservative party) we just ship of to the US.

3. This behavior is widespread in the right wing
I was on the Yahoo boards yesterday, discussing Clarke's new book.

Several right wing posters started posting all kinds of asinine shit, like, "Clarke loves Niggers", and "I sucked a nigger's dick and his semen was white."

I shit you not.

I'm like -- WTF does that have to do with Clarke's accusations about Bush ramrodding us into Iraq???

Same with the Dennis Miller interview with Eric Alterman.

They can't handle the truth, and resort to stupid, petty, childish name calling and finger pointing.

Much like what Bush is doing to Kerry.

He keeps harping on "Name the foreign leaders who support you", when Kerry wants to talk about the huge purge of middle class jobs from this country.

And all Frum could do in response was make cracks about Vidal's age.

7. Vidal acquitted himself nicely
but I wish he would've had a better zinger when Frum commented on his memory.

He should've said "well, I've lived through a third of the history of this country, and written 12 books on the rest of it."

12. That'd be good
But I'd have like him to say, "I've forgotten more than you'll ever know."

Gore did good, though. Sometimes it's better just to sit back and let the idiots destroy themselves.

Did you notice how often Frum drank from his cup. He was nervous at being so clearly out-brained. LOL!

11. He really got uptight about the PNAC statement.
He lost all composure then and never recovered.

It really makes me wonder what went on in the green room before the show.

I've seen Frum before, and he was always able to spew his lies and maintain his composure in the past. What happened this time?

Beat up on an elderly man. Good way to court the senior citizen vote, Davey!

HA! I really wish someone had corrected him and said "no, PNAC is this entire administration."

WHY are people so ignorant about PNAC? PNAC is running this country and nobody but us seems to know it.

21. Here's what he's been busy doing with Richard Perle ...

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1400061946/qid=1079899128/sr=2-1/ref=sr_2_1/102-4893160-8703369

<snip>
Some observers see the global political landscape as a complex amalgam of divergent worldviews, shades of gray that usually move in harmony but sometimes collide with violent results. David Frum and Richard Perle, authors of An End to Evil think it's a great deal simpler than that: the United States is good, those who pose a threat, current or future, are evil and must be neutralized or destroyed. Frum, the former speechwriter for George W. Bush credited with coining the term "axis of evil," and Perle, a former assistant Secretary of Defense who was still serving on the Defense Policy Board at the time this book was published, advocate an aggressive, activist approach to stomping out terrorism both within America's borders and in other countries as well. Their plan, described with forceful and urgent language, calls for the United States to overthrow the government of Iran, abandon support of a Palestinian state, blockade North Korea, use strong-arm tactics with Syria and China, disregard much of Europe as allies, and sever ties with Saudi Arabia. Domestically, the authors say, several federal agencies need to be overhauled, a national ID card system needs to be put in place, and the government and its citizens need to realize the gravity of the terrorist threat and step up the effort, as the title indicates, to end evil. Frum and Perle place blame for American ineffectiveness in the fight against terrorism on some political targets one would expect (Congressional Democrats, Bill Clinton) but also point fingers at the present-day intelligence community and even the State Department. It's a broad-ranging political opinion book--one might even use the words "screed" or "manifesto." Perhaps because it tries to cover so much ground, the individually compelling arguments don't hold together as coherently as one might hope. Still, for those who believe that the threat of terrorism is immense and that not nearly enough is being done about it, Frum and Perle offer a stirring call to arms. --Charlie Williams

27. But Gore Vidal slapped him right back down to size and
eloquently so. Loved the remark when he asked Frum if he had to explain the American system to him. I find Tucker Carlson pretty rude myself. I think if there were an Emmy for TV News personality rudeness Tucker would be up there along with Chris Matthews.
