I recommend People's History of the US by Howard Zinn. The communist manifesto of course :D by Marx and Engels.

3. The Collected Poems of Langston Hughes
Actually, I haven't read it yet, but I'm teaching a lesson on a few of his smaller poems tomorrow. The collected poems is on my reading list, too.

I do want interesting books. Some of Chomsky's stuff gets really dry and hard to read after a while.

Just getting more ideas, thanks guys, will check all these out :D
