here's an interesting little quote from today's wapo reliable sources from matthew's bro:

"Chris has said Bush was the first Republican he voted for for president," Jim told us. "I think it was disappointment with his long-term friend Al Gore. I think he voted for Bush because he was more true to himself and who he was than Al Gore was. I'm proud of that."

People can grow with the position. Gore had far more potential to resolve his campaign jitters and grow into office. On the other hand, what Matthews saw in Bush was Bush at his peak. He has never since grown. It says something about Matthews inability to judge people. His disappointment in Gore was probably out of jealousy. I distinctly remember Matthews saying that it was time for a change, and that the Democrats had been in power long enough.

I don't know how that bleach brain can sleep at night.
