Limbaugh: "Those Two Million Who Lost Jobs Aren't Unemployed"
Edited on Tue Mar-23-04 02:21 PM by CO Liberal
"They've gone into business for themselves."

He just said that on his radio pukefest. Does anyone have any info to refute that statement. Since Rush said it, chances are it's a lie....

9. How do they measure "stopped looking?"
The unemployment numbers reflect who is collecting unemployment. After 26 weeks, your unemployment runs out. That doesn't mean you've stopped looking for a job. I know a couple of people who have been out of work for well over a year. They look every day.

8. Hogwash
While only over 2 million jobs have been lost so far, there were a total of 8 million unemployed for the month of February, so what limbaugh said is just hogwash.

6. That's the government definition if you if you've run out of unemployment
or are no longer looking for work.

That's why the official unemployment rate is 5.6, not 7.4%

7. all you would ahve to do to refue this
is to look at new business starts(they keep that stat somewhere right?) and see that it's not much different than a few years ago.

10. Limbaugh talks without thinking about what comes out of his mouth
I remember when he said that a man complained to him because he was getting only $10.00 an hour and his answer to the man was that he should go out and find himself a job that pays $15.00 an hour. I think that a multi-millionaire drug addict who has sold his soul to the devil has no right giving advice to people who are just trying to make an honest living.

20. Please Rush,take a pill!

Your maid is out of a job now because she outed you. She very well may have a new business. She now has enough money to open her own business. It will be called ..."Valley of the Dolls Factory/"

Thanks Rush, that's one person out of a job that can afford to open a new business. The rest are sitting by their radio, some are nuts listing to you for lack of something else to do.

23. One thing they say is that many of the unemployed have businesses.
But 9 out of 10 new businesses fail so I doubt that you can call them employed even if they did go into business. The businesses are all "consultant" type which means feast and famine income.

This is just another convenient way for the right to lie the problems away.

Edited on Tue Mar-23-04 03:50 PM by tom_paine
He knows his lies don't even have to make sense and the Sturmtruppen will eat it up.

That must be kind of fun...fooling stupid Nazi-like people day after day after day after day...

Of course, given that he himself is a member of the New Order, probably makes it less fun.
