transcript/video: bush* pre-empting 9/11 hearings today....sad, real sad
Edited on Tue Mar-23-04 06:42 PM by amen1234

video and transcript at this link....bush* cut off the CNN broadcast of the 9/11 commission, so we could hear this unusual full-cabinet meeting, which was called suddenly....

-snips-

We need an energy plan. The Secretary of Energy discussed the need for an energy plan.

Tax relief has stimulated economic growth, and they need to be permanent. And I call upon Congress, once again, to, at the very least, make sure the child credit, the marriage penalty, and the 10 percent bracket are made permanent now so that people can plan -- consumers can plan and small business owners can plan.

I'll answer two questions here today. Tom, wherever you are.

Q Mr. President there's been a lot of attention over the last couple days to a book written by your former counterterrorism advisor that suggests that you understated the threat of al Qaeda before September 11th, and then rushed to blame Iraq after the terror attacks. Is there any basis at all in any of these allegations? And do you agree with the Republican Senator Chuck Hagel that the White House needs to take these charges more seriously and not just undermine Mr. Clarke's credibility?

bush*: And had my administration had any information that terrorists were going to attack New York City on September the 11th, we would have acted.

Q Yes, sir. Thank you, sir. Are you worried about the threat from Hamas to attack U.S. targets over Israel's killing of Sheik Yassin? And were you troubled by his killing?

bush*: There needs to be a focused, concerted effort by all parties to fight terror. Any country has a right to defend itself from terror. Israel has the right to defend herself from terror. And as she does so, I hope she keeps consequences in mind as to how to make sure we stay on the path to peace.

Lordy, he's a better Dem than Lieberman.

On edit: Of course, that isn't difficult.

2. This isn't satire?
Sorry, I haven't been logged on since this morning. "Tom" actually asked that question? That's a helluva question.

7. I didn't realize that a country could be male or female
"Israel has the right to defend herself from terror. And as she does so, I hope she keeps consequences in mind as to how to make sure we stay on the path to peace."

I wonder if she is free Friday night?

The words * uses when he speaks off the cuff are a window into his mind. Clearly he sees the "Homeland" as male -- and by Homeland he is referring to himself, which he sees as the epitome of maleness -- and other countries as being subordinate (female).

Of course, I could be spending too much time watching Dr. Phil.

10. no, you're right, Last Liberal, it's totally creepy
and it makes me cringe when he says "my government" or "my country" too--like I'm being raped.

5. Bushisms Galore. . .
"Junk and frivolous lawsuits make it awfully difficult for people to find work here in the United States." WHAT JUNK?

"And I call upon Congress, once again, to, at the very least, make sure the child credit, the marriage penalty, and the 10 percent bracket are made permanent" YOU WANT TO KEEP THE MARRIAGE PENALTY?

6. seemed like a KKKarl rove trick....Cohen's testimony was damning
to bush* and his minions....and this sudden 'full cabinet' meeting is one of only a very few called during the shrub mis-adminstration....

Cohen was real clear that the shrub was CREATING terrorism, rather than protecting America from terrorism....also, Cohen made it clear that bush* knew and did nothing....

Cohen stated clearly that military force can never be a solution to terrorism and that Israel was THE PROBLEM.....

9. yes indeed
and the poor freepers are meant to be waxing poetic about how strong and resolute the chimp appeared--bravely carrying on with the business of the nation even as he is under such dreadful attacks. (no doubt)

scary. His denial ("if we had any idea that New York...") is an insult. Of course they did know, and they were just lazy and clueless-and distracted by their lust for Iraq oil. Maybe that's not a crime, except that THEY STOLE AND CHEATED THEIR WAY INTO OFFICE IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! THEY LIED AND CLAIMED THEY COULD DO IT BETTER!!! THEY WENT ON VACATION AND LET IT SLIDE!!!

These illegitimate "leaders" were hungry for the power, but too stupid and greedy to be responsible with it. THAT is the crime.

8. "Tom, wherever you are" - shows how phoney his photo-op really is
Just like always, rehearsed questions, rehearsed answers.

11. Bingo, you won the prize!!
Pre-selected person, pre-scripted questions, pre-memorized answers...

and he still sounds like a mentally-challenged 4th grader!! But ya gotta feel sorry for him. They didn't give him much time to learn the answers since they had to time it to coincide with Cohen.
