It's down and whois says the domain is locked.

12. It takes awhile for the message to propagate through the internet.

Not all of the domain lists update at the same time. Some ISP providers can take longet than others before you will have access.

You need to spend a lot of time there?

Most likely it would had been renewed in September. The site was created on 23 Sept 1996 and expires on 22 Sept 2006

According to DNSstuff's WHOIS Search the status is listed as REGISTRAR-HOLD

REGISTRAR-HOLD: The sponsoring registrar sets this status. The domain can not be modified or deleted. The registrar must remove REGISTRAR-HOLD status to modify the domain. The domain can be renewed. The domain will not be included in the zone.

The registrant Jim Robinson had the phone number as 5555555555
It is apparently now listed as 5592731400
