NBC Whoring for Bush Again...
I watched the NBC Evening News tonight and they claim that Richard Clarke's charges and testimony do not appear to be hurting Bush politically. I ain't buying whatever they're sellin'.

Like Big Daddy said to Brick in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, "Boy, I smell the powerful odor of mendacity, don't you"?

...and you know that they cannot have this "silly little" revelation of Clarke's hurt their (defense contractor) business.

9. NBC is reading more into Newsweek poll than it deserves
They forget that Rasmussen put Kerry three points ahead of Bush by 47 points to 44 - a nice reverse of the four per cent Bush lead just a week ago.

And Zogby now has Bush's approval ratings as slipping to an all-time low of 46 per cent.

Seems like "The Richard Clarke story" is going to go on and on.

The Newsweek poll said 2/3rds say Clarke hasn't affected their view of Bush.

But it goes on to say approval for Bush handling of terrorism have dipped from 65 percent to 57 percent in the last month.

And while the GOP types (half of the population) thought Clarke was acting for political and personal reasons, a quarter said they feel he's acting as a dedicated public servant.

And while 65 percent said Clarke's testimony has not affected their views of Bush, 17 percent said it made them view him less favorably and 10 percent said more favorably.

And while the dirty Clinton up GOP approach has - with media pushing the lie - gotten 2/3 rds saying Clinton did not take the threat of terror seriously enough, we still get Newsweek reporting Bush and Kerry tied, with Bush's job approval at 49 percent.

5. Its A Great Show Tonight.
Their flashback segment is from Clinton bombing Sudan and Afghanistan just after his testimony in the MLS. It's a good episode for the Dems.

8. I read about the NBC news online and then saw it later
(I'm on Pacific time)

While NBC did say that 65% of people did not change their minds after Clarke testified, the rest of the news was not favorable to Bush.

NBC did just a minute or two on Iraq, but the news there was about killings. Their segment on Medicare prescription drugs was not positive.

I personally cannot see how Bush has more than 20% of the people behind him. My husband says Bush supporters are stupid, so I guess we have a lot of stupid people.

10. I don't think most Bush* supporters are stupid
Many of them are religious fanatics. That doesn't mean they are stupid, but it does mean their minds are closed. No amount of damaging information on Bush* will shake their support.

Another large group of them are anti-"Big Government"/all tax cuts are good types. They'll support Bush* no matter what. Again, not necessarily stupid, just true believers in a crackpot philosophy. These people have a portion of their brains that just doesn't function properly. In other respects, they might even be considered at least of normal intelligence.

Another group are the ignorant. They aren't necessarily stupid, they just don't have the knowlegde to know better. Maybe they are lazy, or not interested in politics, or just go with the name they are familiar with.

The final group that definitely is not stupid are the rich. They can continue to clean up with Bush* in office.

Any remaining Bush* supporters are definitely stupid.

11. Whoa! Go look at my post about said Newsweek "poll" above.
The online numbers tell a VERY different tale. This is astonishing. I can't believe NBC and Newsweek are selling these numbers to the public. Who'd they call? Texans?!

The Kool Kids are going to be in for a hell of a surprise this November.
