So, just What Did the Bush Guys do to keep the terrorists from attacking
America? It seems they Had plenty of warnings and a history of them attacking us here and over seas. Never mind attacking Clarke and his book. Answer the questions.

Just what is it they did to prevent an attack?

And the answer is Nada. They Ignored Rudman Harts report who predicted and gave guidelines as to how we could protect ourselves better among other things. Our brave leader is a reactive and not a Proactiver Leader. Very poor leadership indeed.

Come, we go :puke:

1. Energy Task Force - 9 Meetings, vs. Terrorism Task Force - Zero Meetings
While Richard Clarke was pleading with the Bush Administration to pay more attention to preventing terrorism, much of the Administration's attention was distracted on planning billions of giveways to the energy industry.

Dick Cheney was made chairman of the top-secret Energy Task Force, as well as the anti-terrorism Task Force. The Energy Task Force met 9 times in the first 4 months of the administration. The Anti-Terrorism Task force NEVER MET. Dick Cheney or his top aides did find time to hold 6 meetings with officials of Enron during this time, including a meeting between Cheney and Ken Lay.

(Enron and its executives have been George W. Bush's biggest political campaign contributor over the years.)

Of course, both Cheney and Bush came from the Energy Industry. They were busily working on expanding oil and gas drilling on Federally-owned land, reducing regulations on the energy industry, opening up the Arctic Wildlife Refuge for oil wells, and planning for billions of new "incentives" and tax breaks for energy production.

The Bush Administration has continued to keep the workings of the Energy Task Force top-secret. The issue is now before the U.S. Supreme Court.

31. most excellent summation
took you a long time getting up outta that hole in the ground to look it up, did it?

welcome back to life!

Al Franken, BTW, wanted Diane Sawyer to ask dumbo what the higher number would be:

A) the national debt times the number of times the anti-terrorism task force met

OR

B) the national debt times the number of times the energy task force met

he then wondered if dumbo would know the mulitplication identity property of zero, since that's how many times the terror task force met

that cracked me up

7. Look at this excerpt...
...
By the end of April 2001 - only three months later - the first annual terrorism report issued by the Bush administration made scant mention of al-Qa'ida. A senior State Department official told CNN at the time that the Clinton administration "made a mistake in focusing so much energy on bin Laden".

23. The people MUST understand what's been said in this thread...
The MSNBC poll released yesterday showed some effect, but not enough. It showed many more people placing blame for not preventing 9/11 on Clinton than on Bush. I'm trying to stay hopeful by remembering that it took a long time for Watergate to sink into the public consciousness.
