President Clinton and the Clinton administration.
Is Bill Clinton still president? I've never heard his name mentioned as much as it has been lately. Media and Rupuglikkkans are just obsessed with the comparison of the Clinton administration to the current bunch of lying crooks. The only reason I can come up with is that the Repugs consider and know that the Clinton admin is still considered to be the standard for governance.

1. Yes.
They want to make the rhetorical argument that the attack on the Twin Towers in New York is no different from any other "terrorist" attack in the world.
Bush failed to prevent it on US soil, Clinton failed to prevent terrorism around the world.
A pathetic defense of Bush's failure.

2. republicans cannot get over Clinton
if they stopped criticizing Clinton they might have to turn a critical eye to their King George; that will not happen.

3. You are going to hear it a lot more now they lost their strong on
terrorism talking point. It is all they have. The decade long crusade to destroy a man did take it's toll. To many in the GOP the name Clinton is their equivilent to "Remember the Alamo" or "Remember the Maine" some stirring battle cry to rouse up their base which I am beginning to consider to be nothing more than rabble. They are doing their "Rabble Rousing" by uttering Clinton's name.

4. This is a deliberate strategy...to politicize Clarke & 9-11 Commish
This was reported in the NYT on either Friday or Saturday. The GOP is going to try to politicize this more.

This is probably a sharper strategy than to discredit Clarke personally.

His book is actually somewhat critical of how things where handled in the Clinton years, so the GOP could use that aspect of the book as a way to deflect Clarkes' charges in the book against the Bush admin.

This would also dovetail pretty much with the expceted results of the 9-11 commission.

5. If Clinton had not committed adultry, would the pubs be able to stir up as
much hatred for him?

I can't think of anything else that they can really truly put their finger on concerning Clinton.
