Clarke + LeakGate Plame matter= Bush Doom
So the Clarke story has broken, and no matter how hard the Bushovites try to spin it they still look REALLY bad.

And the frog march out of Cheney's office is scheduled for this summer. Scooter Libby and another close aid are being targeted by a federal grand jury in the CIA leak matter. When the indictments roll down, the GOP is SCREWED.

1. Curious if you think the indictments will preceed Wilson's book?

4. You have abandoned your thread sgr.....where did you go.
THe reason I asked my question in post #1 is because I know that Joseph Wilson's book is slated to be released May 1. It seems to me that if the indictments are not handed down before the release of the tell-all, this will cause a huge rukus.

THoughts anyone?

3. Yup. As a scandal, Clarke's book is only the current frontrunner
Edited on Sun Mar-28-04 02:56 PM by Stephanie

We have scandals galore to look forward to from this crooked, lying WH:

>>Plame indictments are imminent

>>Decision on whether to prosecute in Senate Judiciary Comm theft of Dems' documents - did the docs go to the WH?

>>SC decision on releasing Cheney's secret energy panel docs (Iraq oil field maps and lists of "potential suitors" for Iraqi oil).

>>9/11 Commission has more public hearings scheduled.

I know there are more...

6. As Joseph Wilson said a long time ago -
Not everyone in government is partisan. Their are career people in intelligence and justice and all departments - the permanent government of Washington - who are professionals and they will do their job regardless. So when the Plame case was put into the hands of career Justice professionals, things started happening. I think we are seeing something similar in the 9/11 Indep. Comm. I think Clarke is a career professionalism who believes in doing the job instead of playing politics.

7. p.s. - Of course the SC / Cheney case is already compromised
Since Scalia won't recuse himself, that case is already tainted.

There probably are still more.

8. It is getting harder and harder for the press to ignore negative
aspects of the Bush administration. Clark is not so easily dismissed...lends a certain credibility to the overall charges against Bush that cannot be ignored.

Just the price of gas should doom the oilmen running this country...but why then are the polls so close?

Because the connections have not been made forcefully enough. Also, to a large extent, Bush has been successful in wrapping himself in the flag.

We need slogans like: 'When an Arab oilman makes a dollar, a Texas oilman makes two'. Somehow, we need to drive this simple, basic truth home. Americans will 'get it' every time they fill up...if they can afford to. And of course, Ken Lay still walks free.

But I am afraid that as the flunkies are sent to jail, it will exonerate the CEO, ala Enron vis a vis Plame. This cannot be allowed to happen, anymore than it should in the case of Ken Lay.

And I cannot understand why, when it has been shown Iraq was'nt even necessary, that it is, in fact, a cynical money-war...why it cannot be driven home to the public that men are dying and fuel is yet high. Because that was the cynical, psychological contract this administration had with the American People. People assumed a win in Iraq meant low prices at the pump. Yeah. That was the unspoken deal. But Bush has'nt delivered. That was why there was no help for him when Saddam was captured. People thought, 'ok, cool-now where is my cheap gas'?

Someone needs to point out all these connections, and make people think about it every time they fuel up.

Because I think that is why many people still support Bush, even given all his negatives-they believe he is still gonna deliver on the fuel deal.

If someone were to point out this unspoken contract has been broken by Bushco (use Ken Lay and Cheney to show where his loyalties lie), then the whole rotten house of cards comes tumbling down. We will be out of Iraq by the end of the year...and Bush will lose the election.

12. Welcome to DU
hope you like it here.

As for Clarke, I would just like to see him with his old job back. I think we were a lot safer when folks like him were in charge.

17. Welcome to DU!
Clarke made a point of saying under oath that he would not accept a position in the Kerry administration, if there is one.

11. Clarke's performance on MTP this a.m. has ...
convinced me that none of Clarke's adversaries are playing at his level, not in the press or in the Administration. He is simply too sharp for them.

GOTT SEI DANK!!!

My analogy is that of reading so many :scared: what-if-they-take-over-the-internet threads. :scared:
As the mother of 2 computerimmersed freaks and their exponential friends, the angst always makes me laugh. There is NO WAY these dinosaurs can keep up with our youngsters, ESPECIALLY those with skills and a sense of human dignity, of which there are many. The arrogance on the "skills" level just makes *them a bigger target.

Sure, in any "shut-down," Luddites like me would be flummoxed, but most kids I know whose core values are offended and on-line survival challenged (not to mention the off-line bit of us ALL ;-)) will have to just gimme a bud, send me into the next room with the Dr. Pepper, Lay's Potato Chips, pillow, blanket, remote control for the Shirley Temple videos they left there for my maintenance and get back to me later with their tales of triumph. Kids have given me ample reason to believe in their spirits!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Richard A. Clarke

Here we have a cute pasty ol' white guy (an exceedingly RARE occurence), whose EYES say it all. Never mind he got the brains, creds and mouth to back it up and he's rarin' to tell the TRUTH from his vantage point, growed up, as it were, in gub'mint. (Bet on da K.O.)

Anyone and everyone with the public exposure to support Richard A. Clarke (PUH-LEESE STOP CALLING HIM dick. CHENEY is a smegma covered dick) can you canaries start chirping? Can you spell u-n-d-e-r-g-r-o-u-n-d b-u-n-k-e-r-s, boys and girls? I KNEW you could! What WAS all that noise in D.C. a bit back? Like they have earthquakes there or sumpin?

Pop Quiz!!!
What's his middle name???
