Reaching Across Faiths: Atheists Who Believe Bush is the Antichrist
Edited on Sun Mar-28-04 05:49 PM by frank frankly
Keeping with his gift for bringing people together, President George II has helped me bridge a gulf with some people in my life. I, of course, know and love many Christians of all varieties and was raised one myself, but sometimes it is very clear that we do not agree on some of the fundamental questions of life. Things like philosophy, reality, history, our nature as animals, etc...

I may not believe in the Bible and although I find value in the way Jesus lived, to be honest I really dislike a lot of it...but I now must confess I do have some faith.

After all, if BushCo nukes the Middle East, then much of the Bible's Antichrist and armeggedon ending will wonderfully come true, which would then retroactively validate all Bible followers throughout time. Plus, I think the Antichrist I supposed to say he's Christ, which George likes to do. All in all, yes, I think he is the Antichrist.

To unity!

3. Christian weighing in:
Thanks for the post, I think it a worthy discussion
among all people of faith- fact is recent events
also fit Hopi Prophcey, the Hopi, in my mind, come as
close to following the teachings of Christ as anyone
I ever met at church, most of whom fail miserably at it.
One of the most Christian people I have ever known
is declaredly an agnostic, and yet his work fits EVERY
requirement of living as a Christian. In other words,
I do not neccesarily believe that "Christianity" can be
defined by the men of this world, but always can be
identified when weighed by the scriptural instructions,
that manifest in many people in this world who have NEVER
even seen, much less read a bible.

That being said, as aperson who does study the bible,
and not men's interpretations of it, BIG difference there,
there is no doubt in my mind that Bush is the beast that
appears as a sign that the anti-christ is here and about
to take the stage. (Rev 13)

Bush does not scare me nearly as bad as
"who's on next?"

11. You know I think I am a Christian, although I just don't know anymore.
I guess I believe that Jesus lived and was sent to show us how to live and love each other. The other stuff doesn't make any sense anymore, especially in light of my recent discoveries of how the books of the bible were written and selected.

I find it interesting that you think that Bush is the 'Beast'. If you don't mind, could you elaborate a little bit. And you mentioned that you believe that the 'Beast' is a sign that the anti-christ is here. Could you touch on that a little bit. And who do you think is on next?

I always enjoy reading your posts. I find that we think in similiar ways.

13. Revelations 13
I am going to break down Revelations 13 as it speaks to me
as a Christian in relation to GW.Bush.
I will insert what I have been santicfied with, in understanding
as a Christian, in relation to Scripture:

13:1
And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise
up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and
upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of
blasphemy.
This passage refers to the FIRST beast, who rises from the sea
and utters blashphemy. When GW quoted Isaiah 61, from the boat,
on the sea by the way, he blasphemed. Isaiah 61 is the verse referred
to by Jesus, to the Nazarenes, to confirm that He is the one spoken
of in the prophecies of the Old Testament Isaiah which speaks of
the coming of the Messiah. In short, he compared himself to Christ
that day.

13:2
And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his
feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth
of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat,
and great authority.
Need I explain this?

13:3
And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death;
and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world
wondered after the beast.

George has repeatedly claimed to have been cured of his
alcohol addiction by Christ. All the world (fundies) wondered
ater the beast- It is no secret that the dominionists believe that
GW is God's appointed, and that his "cure" is proof of his healing
and status in the Kingdom.

13:4
And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto
the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like
unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
The fundies believe tha GW was appointed by God- mistakenly.
Therefore they are worshipping "the Dragon." Or, plainly put
and warned of in the scriptures, false Christianity.

13:5
And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things
and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to
continue forty and two months.
Again, need we say more?
Bush has repeatedly blasphemed the word of God.
Not only in word. but in deed.
13:6
And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to
blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that
dwell in heaven.
Ditto- As in, go llok up all the quotes in which GW claims to have
been "told by God" to kill innocent people?
13:7
And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to
overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds,
and tongues, and nations.
Have you noticed, NOTHING appears to be able to stop them?
Indeed it would appear that he HAS been given this power.
13:8
And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose
names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain
from the foundation of the world.
This passage refers to the warning that "even the elect shalll be decieved"
Jesus said this world is not my home. The metaphysical teaching
in the line "all that dwell upon the earth" meaning those who
follow earthly law, versus spiritual law. We are currently witnessing
a deluge of law-making based on an earthly perception/ literal
transcription of scripture by the Right-Wing-Dominionist appointed
bodies of legislation. EX: Gay marriage rights, Abortion rights etc...
All of which havew to do with MAN'S interpretation in a literal
worldly sense of the scripture. However, since they are actually
followers of the dragon who has blasphemed the word of God,
and deceived them, they are not actually Christians- although they
believe themselves to be so.

13:9
If any man have an ear, let him hear.
As in, if you are tuned to the spirit, you will recognize the deception.

13:10
He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that
killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the
patience and the faith of the saints.
Capitivity being serving anything other than the spiritual teachings.
"The Truth Shall Set You Free." "No man can serve two masters"
13:11
And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and
he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
This refers to who is in power AFTER Bush.

13:12
And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him,
and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to
worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
"all the power of the first beast" You must examine all that has been
passed in legislation. (Patriot Act 1 and 2.)
Again the reference to the "deadly wound that was healed"
Strongly sugests that this person will claim to be "saved" by God
too, as Georgie does with his "poor me, pour me, another drink"
testimony. The false Christians eat this shit up, and will follow
this second beast over the cliff.

13:13
And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come
down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
Can you say DARPA?
And, did you see the recent article about the Russian scientist
who filed a patent on the technology to create "advertising"
in the heavens?

13:14
And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of
those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the
beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they
should make an image to the beast, which had the wound
by a sword, and did live.
Picture the fundies frothing as they see "jeebus" in the sky
courtesy of Darpa technology?
"Which had the wound of by a sword" the implications here
are far too dreadul as in false leading of the Sheeple.

And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast,
that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause
that as many as would not worship the image of the beast
should be killed.
Which is exactly what the dominionists believe.
Gays, adulterers, abortionists and those who receive them,
should be killed. Executed.

13:16

And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free
and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their
foreheads:
No need for explantion here- bio-chips, in the
name of national security of course.
13:17
And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the
mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Wanna eat? Scan the hand.
13:18
Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the
number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his
number is Six hundred threescore and six.
Again , a metaphysical reference, debated, but not actually
agreed on.

By the way, this post in NOT in any way intened to convert
anyone- simply to illustrate a perspective from the Christian
understanding of recent events.

I am completely open to all other perspectives, should anyone
wish to share them.
BHN

13:2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his
feet were as the feet of a bear (Russia), and his mouth as the mouth
of a lion(Britain): and the dragon (China) gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

It's the other four permanent members of the Security Council... well, almost. If we can establish that France is a leopard then Kofi Annan is probably the antichrist.

You know what the French word is for leopard? It's léopard! What are the odds of that?

I believe that is what I read a few months back if I remember. This would mean that this event has not transpired yet. It would have to be a future event that involved all the members of the security council. That is, like you said, you can tie the leopard into France......anyone?

As prime contractor and systems engineering company, KMW is responsible for the development and series production of complex weapon systems. Its key products, the PzH 2000 self-propelled howitzer, the LEOPARD 2 and LEOPARD 1 MBTs as well as the GEPARD and CHEETAH self-propelled anti-aircraft guns, the SHORAD light air defence system, the FENNEK reconnaissance vehicle, the DINGO All-protected Carrier Vehicle (APCV) and the European production version of MLRS, all hold top positions by international standards.

More than 8,000 LEOPARD 1 and 2 main battle tanks have been fielded by 18 nations on three continents, including 11 NATO nations as well as Australia, Austria, Brazil, Chile, Finland, Sweden and Switzerland. The LEOPARD 2 is referred to as the Euro LEOPARD 2.

41. Very interesting topic here.. I've been saying Bush could very well be
the forerunner to anti christ ever since he took office.

I remember, while the fiasco of the "recount" spun out of control in florida, I was in general purpose forums saying this very thing to other's who were obviously conservative xtians. I did my little bit in "warning" those not to be too quick to call this guy a "good christian". At that time, it was only a "sense" I had. Now after reading, researching, websurfing, DU and other sites, I realize the very real possibility that bush and his 'followers' are bringing that bibilcal scenario to pass. Indeed.......who's next! :scared:

I even found Christain groups online that propose the same thing and are getting the heck out of the US. One particular group, if anyone is interested, is: http://www.endtimesnetwork.com their sister site is: http://www.isrp.org

These particular people quite dedicated to traditional christianity but with a twist; they also have a huge interest in politics, liberal style. I've never seen anything like it. These people go about protesting NAFTA, WTO,etc. Their site is like a blog. It is lengthy and some of it is kinda radical. I found that while I'm not leaving for parts outside america, I DID like the research they did on everything you can think of to link bush, cia, fundamentalism/evagelicalism etc. to a biblical plot, for lack of a better term. Whether one would follow these people outta here is another question, but their political research work is very credible and easily proofed.
Just a tidbit for anyone's edification if you'd like to go take a look.(they are currently moving away but I think all their stuff is still up at these sites--with archived material as well. Check it out--Decide for yourself. ~Peace~

"Religion is for those who don't want to go to Hell-
spirituality is for those who have been there."
Jesus was a spiritual teacher and condemned
those who cloaked themselves in religiousity.

15. What was Christ about?
If Jesus was about love thy neighbor, and know thyself, then the opposite of Christ, the anti-Christ, is the opposite of these things: hate, prejudice, intolerance and denial.

Do we need to find an individual like George Bush to represent these things? These things can exist in all of us, just as Christ can live within us.

Maybe the anit-Christ isn't a person, it is a state of mind.
