5. I was wondering about the same thing.
The Newsweek poll was by telephone.

I guess all us liberals are working our asses off with two or three jobs to put food on the table. Or, some of us are unemployed and had our phones cut off.

So, the only ones they reach are those guys who are too rich to work or stay-at-home moms who home school their children. Or people lie because they think the White House has tapped their phone and if they don't give the "right" answers they end up in Guantanomo.

Those !@#$ polls are just unbelievable

6. I don't think it is that favorable for Shrub...
The Newsweek poll seems to reflect the "man in the street" view more than I'd expected, especially given responses like this:

Do you think the attention that the Bush administration has given to Iraq has seriously distracted from the administration's efforts to fight terrorism generally?

Yes 42% No 47%

Has the Bush administration done all it could to fight terrorism or has it not done all it could?

Done all could 46% Has not done all it could 43%

If I were campaigning as the "war president" that would scare the santorum out of me.

8. This is just too damn weird
Newspeak is nearly the opposite of the WEB poll. Something stinks. How could a random selection of people have such a divergent take on things? I think polls are questionable at best, but this is just weird.

10. because folks taking the web poll are "self selecting" and by...
no means "random". There are also some issues with phone polling, but I'd tend to trust that more than a web poll.

13. The Newsweek Poll only had 25% who ID'd themselves as
Democrats. I think that is an extraordinarly low number for nationwide polling, hence the skewed numbers

16. That is weird....
"The NEWSWEEK poll was conducted by Princeton Survey Research Associates, which interviewed 1,002 adults by telephone on Mar. 25 - 26. The margin of error is plus or minus 3 percentage points. For those questions which surveyed registered voters, 838 people were interviewed, and the margin of error is plus or minus 4 percentage points. For those questions which surveyed Democrats and Democratic leaners, 265 people were interviewed and the margin of error is plus or minus 7 percentage points."

Maybe the part about Dems was part of a secondary poll they are not listing? It refers to a higher margin of error but the questions don't seem to be Dem specific. What's that all about?

11. Don't forget all the imbeciles turning to Nader.
Ralph Rocks the Vote
A new poll shows young voters turning toward the consumer advocate, at the expense of John Kerry.

Are we really giving birth to a nation of morons? How can they be soooo stupid not to see that a vote for Nader is a vote for bu$h?
