Unemployment Figures
Need a little help here if possible...

Was wondering where there is a non-political source to get unemployment figures (percent of pop. unemployed, or percent of eligible-to-work people unemployed) for the current time and going all the way back a few decades...avergaes by year, by decade, etc...

Thanks ya'll

Heyo

2. Here's one link to start

www.legalhardware.com/eco...charts.htm

These are based on stats from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, which is good info.

4. Depends....
The Bush admin has politicized agencies that haven't been politicized before. If you mean non-governmental, I don't have an answer. But the Bureau of Labor Statistics has lots of info on unemployment: http://www.bls.gov/home.htm

7. But note...
they get their supporting data from the BLS.

Truth is, nobody but the BLS and the Census bureau have the resources to get the amount of data necessary.

Everyone else looks at the raw numbers they provide. Any politization of the numbers is in the interpretation of them and the press releases. The raw data is tough to interpret properly, but apparently no one is screwing with it.

Yet.
